Age: 23 Height: 175 cm Weight: 64 kg Daisuke is the protagonist of the story. He works as a grade school teacher and is in charge of the third grade class 3-1. He often ends up in situations that make it appear as if he is sexually harassing Rin; though, he believes to be the other way around, with him as the victim. Later on in the series he begins to grow attached to Rin more and more. He is at first unsure about his feelings for Rin, but later on he comes to the conclusion that it is fatherly love and nothing more. He eventually comes to terms that he is in love with Rin because of who she is, rather than how she looks or who she looks like. The two later become a couple on her 16th birthday.

She has a mischievous nature and has proclaimed herself to be Daisuke's girlfriend; she will go to great lengths to make him fall in love with her. This has resulted in her crossing moral and legal boundaries many times, including blackmail and taking advantage of Daisuke's inability to respond to her forcibly advances by threatening to scream that he is trying to molest her, when in fact it is her that is making those advances. Despite Rin's mischievous nature she has shown herself to care deeply for her friends and family, going to any length to defend them. Also much of her bad behaviour is a result of trying to hide the traces of the vulnerable little girl she used to be as a result of a tragedy in her past.

She was picked on by Aoki's predecessor, and quit coming to school to protect herself. In revenge Rin wrote threatening notes to him that caused him to eventually quit due to "work-related stress". After Aoki takes on the job of teaching the class, he manages to convince Mimi to come back to class. She is very studious and has a secret crush on Reiji. In the end of the manga she convinced Reiji to answer her feelings.
A young, well endowed teacher who is Aoki's colleague and friend at work. She tries to care for Aoki as he is still new to the job, and seems to have a crush on him, as she has asked him out on several occasions, only to be interrupted every time by some incident, usually involving Rin.

She therefore sees Aoki as her love rival. Kuro is notable for her foul mouthed behaviour as well as physical aggression towards others. It is also implied that her family is fairly affluent compared to other students. Possibly as a result of this, Kuro is obsessed with following the latest and expensive fashion trends and likes to show off her expensive clothing to others, which is usually in the Gothic Lolita style, sometimes combined with neko ears and tail. Many see her as a show off and a bad apple but she has managed to befriend both Rin and Mimi.

Chitoge is very smart and completely fluent in both English and Japanese despite growing up in America. She is half-Japanese. She is somewhat forgetful, aggressive and quick to attack someone who gets on her nerves. Once you get to know her though, she becomes very talkative and friendly. She is very bad at cooking because she never measures ingredients and adds random things she thinks will make the dish taste better. She is very athletic as she can easily jump over the school's walls and swim 25 meters in a couple of seconds. Ever since she was a child she has had a hard time making friends as others were afraid of her gangster family and as a result she had a cold demeanor toward people at the start of the series due to Claude's over protectiveness. This led her to create notebooks filled with information on classmates in an attempt to make friends. The red ribbon in her hair is a first gift from her mother. She really loves it and always wears it instead of another ribbon; however, her relationship between her mother is getting cold because her mother is really busy woman who leads a ton of companies. Raku knows it well and tries to break the ice during the Christmas eve. Finally her mother notices that Chitoge doesn't hate her even though she never pays attention to her. In the manga, she gradually starts to fall in love with Raku because of his kindness although she does not show it. She has a gentle spot for Raku (sometimes). Later in the manga, her father is looking at an old photo album from 10 years ago. It has been revealed that Chitoge had brown eyes when she was younger and turned blue as she grew up.
