Later in the series, it is revealed that actually, Chao is a time traveler, arriving from the future and attempting to use her genius to change history by using the power of the World Tree during the Mahora Festival to reveal the existence of magic to the world. During this story arc, she clashed with Negi Springfield, who she claims is her ancestor.
Clubs: Astronomy Club Blood type: A Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Likes: Looking after others Dislikes: Loneliness She is a gentle, motherly, and loving, yet strange girl (she seems to have a problem with people calling her "old"). She is a kind person to everyone, volunteers at the daycare center in Mahora City and is in the Astronomy club. She is a good cook, and has exceptional domestic skills. Even though she is very nice, she can be sometimes be equally scary. Shortly after Golden Week, she found an injured dog on the side of the road. She took the dog in, which turned out to be a young half-demon boy named Kotaro Inugami, who had come to Mahora looking for Negi. Unfortunately, Graf Herrman, a powerful demon, attacked Kotaro, and kidnapped Chizuru when she stood up to him. She all but adopts Kotaro after Negi and Kotaro defeat Graf Hermann, and gets him to live in their dorm under the identity of Natsumi's younger brother. Chizuru is extremely courageous, as shown in her encounter and fight with Graf Hermann, where she calmly confronted him for his intrusion and even slapped him when he was about to petrify Kotaro. While Chizuru stays out of the fighting during the mock-battle at the festival, she does take part in the search for Chao late in the conflict, and wins a gift pack for finding her (which she promptly intimidates Kotaro and Natsumi into not disclosing). Her roommates are Ayaka, Natsumi, and Kotaro. Chizuru has the largest breasts in the class. In the Volume 8 character notes and the Negima Workshop, Ken Akamatsu mentions that Chizuru and Mutsumi Otohime from his earlier work, Love Hina, are very similar.

Sakura, is thought of as cute and helpless by boys who think they should protect her, but she's actually a martial arts expert and turns down guys who ask her out because they don't know the real her. Prior to the storyline, she found an old dog whose homeless owner had died a few months before the start of the story. She attempts to befriend the dog whom she promptly names "Dog". Her attempts are fruitless until Oogami comes. She is apparently an exception to Rei's fire and cannot be burned. Sakura disagrees strongly with Oogami regarding his views on people, specifically criminals, and that they are trash who need to die. Sakura is later revealed to be the adopted child of the Sakurakouji family, and President Shibuya's biological daughter, thus she inherits his blood and is also a "rare kind", the ones with immunity to special powers and the ability to dispel them. Like a special power user, Sakura also has a Lost form: she takes a miniature form of herself, just like Shibuya. Before Shibuya gave her up to the Sakurakoujis, Sakura lived inside Eden's laboratory and met Ogami for the first time there. It's later revealed that during the incident in which Ogami's parents died, Sakura tore off Ogami's arm and thus forced him to graft the Emperor's arm onto his own to survive. It's unknown what exactly transpired in this incident, save for that many laboratory staffs died along with Ogami's parents. Although Sakura has long since forgotten about her time in Eden (even her acquaintances with veteran Eden agents like Hitomi and "The Seeking One"), this incident is deeply ingrained in her subconsciousness, and is the source of her determination to never let anyone die in front of her eyes. Heike later reveals to Sakura that her mother is one of the 4 founders of Eden 100 years ago. The "Seeking One", when he speaks to her through a remnant of his soul left inside her body, reveals that she and Ogami are both connect to the mysterious "32nd of December", something that got him nearly killed by Eden when he tried to look into it.
Code: 04 of the Code Breakers. Toki's power revolves around magnetism, but later on he also exhibits the ability of mercury manipulation. When he loses his power, he takes the form of his younger self. He's the joker of the group, always fond of teasing people and has a propensity to tell outrageous lies (which fool no one but Sakura), but gets serious when it comes to his sister, Nenene's, safety. He's extremely popular with females and has a strong liking for breasts. He follows the Hammurabi code variation of "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and the hammer of justice for the wicked." It's later revealed that Toki and Nenene aren't blood siblings. When Nenene met Toki for the first time she was introduced as his older sister. The reason of that was because when Toki was born his magnetism was too powerful so they had to lock it up in "Pandoras box." The Prime Minister thought this was a waste and Toki is also "The Joker" of Eden. He is able to defeat a Rare Kind with his power. Nenene is a spare, another "Joker" Nenene was born by using "the apples of Eden" to create a child to hold the power. As a special power user's DNA greatly affects normal ones, Nenenes left eye was replaced with Toki's right eye. And so, Toki was given Nenene's left eye. After that she started to look like Toki and was able to use the power. Nenene was merely a vessel and Toki got his power taken away from him. Toki, however, couldn't know any of this and was told that only the older sister Nenene inherited the magnetism power from their father. Toki was thus undervalued and attempted to run away from him, until Nenene transferred half of her power (and accordingly, half of her life) to Toki to make him equally special. That's why Toki could use the power of magnetism before opening "Pandora's box." Later, she died protecting him from the Code:Name Saechika. (Toki thought the Re:Code Kouji was the one who killed Nenene for a long time, but it's later revealed that it was actually Saechika.) Nenene is still alive though and while she is in her lost state she doesn't know who Toki is. (Her mind is going back to her childhood). To her, Toki is still a little child. Still, Toki vows to protect Nenene with his life. It's later revealed that Toki is not his real name, but rather a name he adopted when he became a Code:Breaker.
An Ex-Code: Breaker, the former Code: 01 who was greatly respected by his comrades and subordinates, namely Oogami and Kanda. He is "lackadaisical and never gives a straight answer" according to Oogami. His power is electricity, which can be used to manipulate people. As Code: 01, Hitomi was greatly frustrated by the "non-existent" nature of the Code:Breakers, how they risked their lives fighting evil and yet died unrecognized. He left Eden, and later returned to kidnap Prime Minister Fujiwara (Toki's and Nenene's father) in a plan to publicly execute him, hoping to gain acknowledgement for the Code:Breaker's sacrifices. His plans were thwarted by the Code:Breakers, and he died in his Code:End—the eventual death guaranteed to all Code: Breakers in return for their powers.
