Riku is a talking dog who travels with Shizu. He is large, white, and always smiles. Apparently, in the anime, Riku has only spoken to Hermes, as Kino does not believe Riku can speak when told about the discussion Hermes had with him. In the original anime version, Riku also speaks to Shizu, but in the English version, only barks or whimpers to him in these instances. In the novels, Riku speaks to both Kino and Hermes. He lost his mother a while ago, and always blamed himself. He lives with his father who is rarely at home, but they love each other all the same. An accomplished cook, Arou makes lunch for Kanade (and Namiki, the uninvited guest), who often mourns the fact that her cooking "wouldn't hold a candle to his". Shy and introverted, Arou opens up to no one but Kanade (and Namiki, his romantic rival with whom he often argues). Although Arou is quite popular and could easily go out with any girl in the school, he would never choose any of them over Kanade because Kanade is always able to cheer him up no matter how depressed or unhappy he is. Called Arou-kun by his friends. Even though he and Namiki fight a lot, they actually really care about each other. (Source: Wikipedia) Voiced by Tomokazu Seki in the Drama CD.
A traveler, he one day visits the Land of Adults, where he meets the main character of the series when she is a 11-year old girl, and stays at the inn that her parents own. He finds a broken motorrad, and with Kino's help repairs it, giving it the name Hermes. After hearing about the operation Kino is about to undergo, he talks about how she should have more than one road in life. Soon after, when Kino is about to be murdered by her parents with the support of the whole town for daring to think about such taboo thoughts, Kino (original) steps in front of the knife, defending her and dying in the process. After Kino escapes with the help of Hermes, she decides to rename herself after her savior.
Nation's name: Repiblik Sesel, République des Seychelles (Republic of Seychelles) Capital: Victoria Language: Seychellois Creole, French, and English Birthday: June 29th National flower: Tropicbird Orchid Height: Unknown Age: Unknown The main protagonist of the Gakuen Hetalia (Hetalia Academy) game, and a reoccurring character in the anime and manga series. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes, but in earlier artwork, she was shown with black hair and blue eyes. As an African country, her skin tone ranges from tanned to fair; most of the manga illustrations depict her skin tanned, while in the official release of Gakuen Hetalia and in the anime adaptation, she has fair skin. As shown in a flashback, Seychelles was raised by France. In Gakuen Hetalia, he is one of her love interests and in the prototype for the original version of the game, he was a “bad end.” The two seem to be somewhat close, as France was observed visiting her on several occasions. However, Seychelles finds him disgusting; he has tried touching and undressing her, all because he claims that he wants to see how her body has developed since she was a child. Her other respective love interest in Gakuen Hetalia is England, the student council president. The second he met her, he made her his colony and slave, going so far as to strap a dog collar around her neck. Throughout the course of Gakuen Hetalia, Seychelles battles between her feelings for him and France. Despite this, it was shown in strips in the manga that they don’t really get along, and that Seychelles holds a grudge against him for how he’s treated her in the past. Her personality is described as being that of, more or less, a big-hearted country girl who’s a bit tsundere. She relies completely on other countries for ideas as far as cooking and taste goes, and has hardly any natural resources, so all of her food and such is imported. Often seen worrying about her high cost of living and the fact that hardly anyone knows that she exists out there in the Indian Ocean, she can also be described as being a tad sloppy. She receives a handful of tourists every year, and is visited by France and England every now and again, so even though she has a high cost of living, she gets along pretty well. Seychelles is known to speak a “mysterious” language that is a mixture of English, French, and a bunch of other languages, so in a way, she’s kind of peculiar. According to the original Gakuen Hetalia prototype game, she lives with her grandfather. As shown in several instances, she’s obsessed with fish and is often depicted holding one. It was revealed that the island that the Axis Powers and the Allies have been shipwrecked and stranded on is actually Seychelles herself. In her anime debut in Hetalia World Series, she was shown watching them from afar, wondering just how in the world they ended up on her. Originally, Seychelles was drawn with one thick eyebrow and one thin eyebrow, possibly because of her former status as both a British and French colony.
The older brother of Chibitalia, Chibiromano was Spain's minion from the end of the Italian Wars (1559) until 1713 as a result of Spain's loss to the Austrian Hapsburg Monarchy in the War of Spanish Succession. Not much is known about his history before then, except that he was left behind during the Renaissance era when Chibitalia learned the arts from his grandfather (Roman Empire). The two brothers had not actually met, though aware of each other's existence, until Rome's disappearance and Chibitalia's return. Chibiromano is a lazy good-for-nothing as Spain disappointingly finds out upon their first meeting. He refuses to obey orders, tells futile lies, repeats "bastard" (コンヤãƒ) at the end of almost every sentence, blames others (Spain) for his misdoings, and openly and easily cries when upset or embarassed. He has a tendency to turn red when so, prompting Spain to compare him to a tomato, much to his chagrin. Despite his rude remarks and his ignorance over his own position before others, he has a low self-confidence. He's aware that he is even more 'hetare' (useless) than his brother, who can perform housework chores and painting better than he can. He believes that the only reason why Spain (and France) want him under their dominion is to inherit the legacy of his grandfather. When he finds out Spain had led sacrifices to save him from the Ottoman Empire at one point, he brings himself to thank Spain, albeit embarassedly. According to the third manga volume, his significantly different attitude towards girls over men has already been established at his age, when, after claiming that the Spanish language was hard to learn, he uses it to flirt with Belgium right in front of Spain. He also has an erogenous curly ahoge like his brother, which he has forbidden Spain from touching, believing Spain's relentless tugging an act of molestation since "it feels good". He can "dance" the tarantella and is frequently found eating pizza.
Nation's name: Commonwealth of Australia Capital: Canberra Language: English Birthday: Unknown National flower: Golden Wattle Height: Unknown Age: Unknown A character added in 2009, Australia is a large country floating in the ocean that is also one of the seven continents. In earlier artwork, he was shown having blonde hair and blue eyes, but in more recent artwork, his eyes were colored green and his hair was colored light brown. There are two ahoge that stick up by his part, which are said to rise when he is angry. He also has thick eyebrows, similar to England’s. It was revealed that he is like an older brother figure for Wy, and that she has inherited his fun and free attitude. However, he still hasn’t given her the driveway that she wanted, so she has been angry with him lately. He has an adventurous and curious personality, constantly looking for fun things to do. Apparently, he is also quite generous, and loves his freedom. He has two pet kangaroos and a pet koala, and is constantly seen wearing a band-aid across his nose. In a blog post, Hidekaz Himaruya stated that his possible names are “Christian,” “Jett,” “Kyle,” and “Ralph.”
Nation's name: Principato di Seborga (Principality of Seborga) Capital: N/A Language: Italian, Ligurian, and English Birthday: Unknown National flower: N/A Height: Unknown Age: Unknown (but is generally recognized as being a few years older than Sealand and Wy) Seborga is a self-proclaimed micronation in northwest Italy near the French border. He was added to the Hetalia cast by Hidekaz Himaruya in 2010. He has reddish-brown hair, green eyes, and an asymmetrical ahoge similar to the Italy Brothers’ that sticks out on the left side of his head. His general appearance is recognized as being a combination of the Italy Brothers', but it is currently unknown what their relationship is like and if they are blood related to him or not. The three of them, however, were shown together in a sketch by Hidekaz Himaruya, working at a restaurant it seemed. His personality seems to be somewhat passive, based on the fact that he declared his independence centuries ago, but he still continued to live in Italy peacefully and never really fought or pressured anyone to achieve his independence. He is also described as being a womanizer, going so far as to encourage Italy to bring a pretty girl with him the next time he visits. In one strip, he tells Wy that if she were a little older, he’d make a pass at her. Also to note is that Seborga has a history as an independent being before he became a part of Italy, which makes him stand out from other self-proclaimed micronations like Wy and Sealand.
