D'Artagnan is still a teenager when he leaves his native Gascogne "to go up" to Paris. In the series, he is just 15 years old and he dreams to become a musketeer. He is far from knowing the difficulties he will encounter and the very important missions which will be given to him thereafter. even if he is still impetuous and inexperienced, courage and a strong will help him to achieve his goal. A great sense of honor is also one of his qualities. He is weak against women - the disconcerting Milady or the soft Constance with whom he is very in love. (Source: souslesigne.free.fr)

Ritsuko Iwashita is a student in Class 2-B in Fumizuki Academy and is good friends with Mayumi Kikuiri. In Volume 1 it seems she is strong at math, but was still quickly defeated by Mizuki Himeji. In Volume 2 and the Matsuri OVA, she and Mayumi fight Akihisa Yoshii and Yuuji Sakamoto because of technical difficulties during the Summoned Being Tournament, but even with a 116-point lead on Akihisa, she loses due to his Shoukanjuu's agility and his teamwork with Yuuji. Her Summoned Being differs the most amongst the series' media. In the manga adaptation, it wears a black ninja uniform and wields a katana. In the anime adaptation, it wears Western-style armor and wields a sword. In Episode 2 of the Matsuri OVA, it has bunny ears, wears normal girls' clothing, and wields a giant hammer. Kino is the lead character in the story and is described as being around 15 years old with short black hair, large eyes and a fearless face. Kino usually wears a black jacket, brown overcoat, white shirt, goggled cap and wide belt with lots of pouches—using special gear depending on the weather or season as necessary. Kino travels with the motorrad, Hermes. The two have a contract—Kino provides the balance, Hermes provides the speed, and together they can travel anywhere they wish. Kino is an excellent marksman with deadly speed and accuracy, and is typically armed with two large-caliber pistols. On the journeys with Hermes, they both try and stay neutral to the situations they come across and avoid getting into other people's business. It is revealed in episode 4 of the anime and the final chapter of volume 1 of the light novel series that Kino is a female. Her name "Kino" is actually the name of the traveler who saved her as a child and caused her to take to her current lifestyle. Her actual birth name is left unstated throughout both the show and LN but there are implications in the anime that it is "Sakura."

Her surname is usually the target of nickname making (which Madoka does not like) from her classmates. During the school festival, she develops a small crush on the teenage form of Kotarou. She has been shown to be very protective of her friends, and especially for Ako, whom she encourages to be more confident. Ironically, she almost got Ako shot when she pressed the shy girl to confess her love for "Nagi" (teenage Negi) in front of an audience during the Live Mahora Concert. Luckily for Ako, and much to Madoka's consternation, she only asked for Nagi's e-mail address. Madoka also takes part in the "Mars vs. Mages" game and is among the first "casualties" (meaning her clothes were blasted off), when she is hit by the robots' strip beams.
