Anime Debut: Naruto Shippuuden Episode #281 Watase (ワタセ, Watase) is a genin-level shinobi from Konohagakure. Watase is a somewhat stubborn individual, seen from his wanting to participate in the Fourth Shinobi World War despite being too young. He is also very ambitious, and believed that connections no longer made an individual a hero, or Hokage-worthy but it was in fact, their contributions on the battlefield, citing Naruto as an example. Watase was present at the meeting called by Ebisu where he cursed the fact that he had not been born earlier so that he could be on the battlefield. Later when Konohamaru assembled all the genin in the village to get them to face the upcoming threat, Watase told him to stop playing Hokage. A fight ensued which culminated in Watase pulling a kunai on Konohamaru. Things end before they can escalate any further and Watase later contributes to the efforts against the Sumo Wrestlers. Kosuke Maruboshi (�る��コスケ, Maruboshi Kosuke) is a genin of Konohagakure, whom others called the Ten-Thousand-Year Genin (万年下�, Mannen Genin). Kosuke has been a genin for over fifty years, thus the reason others called him the Ten-Thousand-Year Genin. When he was still a child, he made a reckless decision that cost him the lives of his teammates. Feeling ashamed of this, he felt he was not worthy of being promoted beyond the rank of genin. Despite this, he continued to train arduously to improve his skills, something that was insisted upon him by Tobirama Senju. During his time as a ninja, he had served under the Second, Third, and Fourth Hokage and now apparently even the Fifth Hokage. At other points, he fought alongside Jiraiya and Sakumo Hatake. Kosuke is an elderly man with his once black hair now grayed which he wears in a short ponytail. He wears a mesh armor shirt under a short brown sleeveless kimono as well as gray pants. He is usually seen with a smile on his face. He carries a metal pan that he uses for multiple reasons ranging from cooking in while out on missions to a weapon during battle. He also carries a ladle and a sword sheathed horizontally across his lower back. Even though his official ranks is that of genin, he is skilled enough to become a J�nin; a promotion he declined time and time again. He has shown considerable taijutsu skill, able to use only his cooking-ware to defend and maneuver against enemy attacks. He is also a skilled kenjutsu fighter and wields a sword and a hidden blade concealed in his prosthetic left leg, both of which he can use to strike with deadly precision. He also demonstrated the use of a unique technique which incorporated genjutsu along with kenjutsu to confuse and petrify his opponent, making it easier to strike them down. When he was younger, he was taught many techniques by the Second and Third Hokage. His training under the Second has given him highly proficient skill in high caliber water release techniques, allowing him to use techniques such as the Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique and Water Release: Water Encampment Wall. He also learned the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique from the Third Hokage. In addition to combat skills, Kosuke is a highly capable survival expert and cook. He was placed on a team alongside Hayama Shirakumo, Tekuno Kanden and Naruto Uzumaki to guard the borders of the village after Orochimaru and Sunagakure's invasion of the village. He remarked that Minato had left behind a fine son, showing that he was one of the few people who was aware of Naruto's lineage.

Naruko admits that, when she was a child, she was jealous of Menma. Insecure of her glasses and curly hair, she desperately wanted to have flowing hair like Menma. Moreover, she was jealous of Jinta's affection towards Menma. Naruko secretly had a crush on Jinta, which is why she asked him whether he had feelings for Menma. She blames herself for Menma's death, because her question ultimately precipitated in Menma's death. Presently, it is shown that Naruko still has lingering feelings for Jinta. Naruko is involved in a scandal when an older boy, whom she was hanging out with, tries to force her into a love hotel. When she wouldn't agree to have sex with him, he attempts to force her into the hotel to rape her; however, Matsuyuki protects her. Despite this, the rumor that Naruko had sex with this man reaches her high school. Naruko has to face the judgments of her fellow students until she decides to stop going to school in favor of working full-time to get the money to build the rocket. She feels slighted when Jinta focuses on Menma and continues to ignore her, even after they reunited. Matsuyuki, who feels similarly since Menma is denying him, asks Naruko out. However she later tells Chiriko on the bridge that she loves only Jinta and that he is irreplaceable.

Shizuku was a kunoichi who hailed from the Land of Demons. Shizuku is shown to be a graceful fighter with maneuvers of a rhythmic gymnast. Her primary battle tactics while under the influence of Yomi's dark chakra revolve around water-chakra. She can easily create large scale jutsu that can overwhelm the entire area or attack from huge distances. She can also move at great speed with little effort by gliding on a stream of water. If faced with a life-threatening attack, she can turn herself into water. Shizuku is the lone female member of Yomi's team on a quest to release M�ry�. During the first encounter with Naruto and his team, she demonstrated impressive fire-chakra skills that nearly killed Naruto. During the second battle, Shizuku performs the initial attack to separate Shion from her protectors by attacking them with an enormous Water Dragon. Neji is surprised to see that she has such tremendous mastery of water-chakra because he detected no such chakra in her during the previous fight.
