She contacts Kiyotsugu through his website, asking for help - as nothing had worked thus far - which results in the Kiyojūji Paranormal Patrol paying her a visit. Unbeknown to all of them, the priest from the local Hideshima Shrine, who had been supposedly exorcising the Suganuma house by placing wards along the walls, was acting in league with a group of local brokers. Using the rumor of Jami's presence, they would target properties and buy them cheaply before knocking them down for their own benefit - and they had their eyes set on the Suganuma family's land. When the talismans set up by the priest turn out to be shikigami which attack Shinako, Jami comes to her rescue. While she is confused as to this turn of events, Rikuo appears in his "night" form and, having figured out the situation, takes both Shinako and Jami with him to the Hideshima Shrine. There, Shinako overhears the brokers and priest talking about the truth behind the Jami rumors. Caught red-handed, they make to attack her but are stopped by Rikuo and several local y�kai, and when the priest targets Shinako with another set of shikigami, Jami intercepts him. The problem resolved, Shinako learns that Jami has in fact been watching over her family since the days of her ancestor Sadamori Suganuma, who had been his lord while he was still alive and human. Realizing she had misjudged him, Shinako apologizes and thanks Jami for protecting her. As a thank-you present to the Kiyojūji Paranormal Patrol, she gives them several boxes of crabs to take home with them.

Student Number 31: Zazie Rainyday (ザジ・レイニーデイ, Zaji Reinīdei?) Birthday: 17 March 1989. The silent acrobat, and one of the most mysterious girls of the class. Nothing much is known about her, as she rarely associates with anybody, and even when she does, she rarely talks (she has spoken only eight times in the serialized manga thus far). What is known is that she is a member of the Nightmare Circus, the school's Acrobatic Club, and is seen directing a group of "monsters" or "spirits" (similar to No-Face from Spirited Away, the Angels from Neon Genesis Evangelion or possibly Hollows from Bleach) when she offered to cover for her classmates during the school festival, and gave Chao a tiny living dragon as a farewell gift. She also has been shown to see Sayo without the assistance of Negi or having a close relationship with her like Kazumi. According to Negi's Class Register, Zazie is also a member of the school's Magic Club, though whether this is real magic or stage conjuring is unknown. In the anime, she is shown to have proficiency in all kinds of circus tricks such as juggling, sleight of hand, and costume changing. She has dark skin, and has two particular face marks: a large teardrop under her left eye (strongly resembling the carnival character "pierro"), and a vertical line resembling a scar crossing the right side of her face. A splash picture of the cast shows her with claws growing from her fingers. She is sometimes seen with her pet bird, but more recently with her "friends" (the black spirit-monsters). So far, she is the least known of all the students in Negi's class and very little has been revealed about her. Zazie is one of the few students in Class 3-A who did not participate in Negi's sojourn to Wales and the Magical World. When Zazie's name is seen it is written in the Latin alphabet, rather than in Japanese. Similarly, Evangeline's name is also written with the Roman alphabet. This seems to indicate that, like Evangeline, Zazie isn't from Japan and is instead from a country which uses the Roman alphabet. Akio is Nagisa's father. Although he often talks and plays rough, he is kind and sympathetic. His childish side makes it easy for people to befriend him. He runs the Furukawa Bakery with his wife Sanae. In his spare time, Akio plays baseball with children in the small park next to the bakery, and indulges in the Gundam fandom. He is often the victim of Sanae's bread, having to eat her bread in front of her while claiming that he loves it. During the School Life arc, Akio reveals that he was an actor in a theatrical company, but has to quit his job due to Nagisa's health. Akio replaces Youhei's role as the comic relief during the After Story arc, however, he can be serious when needed, as he often gives advice to Tomoya on what it is like to become a man. He tells the story about how Nagisa almost died due to their unintended negligence, and how her life is connected to the city after getting saved from her fever.

Kouko is Fuuko's older sister. She used to be an art teacher at Tomoya's school, and she treats everyone kindly. Kouko is one of the familiar faces in the Furukawa Bakery, and Nagisa admires her very much, being her former art teacher. Currently she is engaged with Yusuke Yoshino, and is the major reason why Fuuko still exists in the school, despite still sleeping in the hospital. In the movie, Kouko was a drama teacher instead of an art teacher. She, along with Youhei and Tomoya helped supervise and revive the drama club for Nagisa.
