Anpanmans rival. The villain from "Germ World" is the leader of the Viruses. His Japanese name means "Germ Man." His ambition is to destroy Anpanman and turn the planet into another "Germ World", yet he is perfectly content to play tricks, steal, and bully those weaker than him. He and Anpanman were born at the same time, making them physical representations of moral dualism. He has a weakness to soap, which shrinks him to the size of a fly. He constructs machines and thinks of intricate plans to counteract Anpanman's strength. Baikinman is the model for Team Rocket at Pokemon.

Tatsuhiro's classmate in high school, was the class representative back then. They meet frequently in manga, but none of them realizes the existence of each other until later. After her father died, she had to work in order to support herself and her brother, who is also a hikikomori, though ended up entangled in a shady pyramid scheme. During school, she had a very uptight personality which Tatsuhiro commented about himself to her face. After high school, she retains much of this personality, though has also become somewhat manipulative in order to survive.

Ribi is the consul to Gen Province. Ribi was appointed a consul to Gen Province by Shoryu. While he informed her that her assignment was tantamount to giving up her life because she will be at the mercy of the provincial lords if anything should happen to her, she accepted and was honoured by the trust that the king had in her. Though she had been ranked relatively low, she had been chosen over Shoryu's advisor Shukou because of her calmer temperament. However, with Atsuyu's rebellion, she is arrested and imprisoned by the regent. When Enki is captured as well, she, Enki, and an infant are linked via a spell placing a stone and thread around their foreheads, so that if the thread is snapped on one person, the other person will die. Despite all of Enki's disparging remarks towards Shoryu, Ribi defends the king and tells Enki how she was appointed as consul to Gen and why he has distributed people he can trust into certain positions in the government. Ribi, as a competant and trusted official, was promoted to a high position but was sent to a far off post away from court politics that could be damaging to her. However, in order to free Enki from being a hostage and holding Shoryu back from acting against Atsuyu, she deliberately snaps the thread on Enki's forehead and sacrifices herself and the infant child. Leo's younger brother. He carries a locket of his mother with him, even though it was broken and would not open. He was captured briefly by mercenaries in Central, but was rescued by Scar, Alphonse, and Edward. Rick was nearly killed during the rescue attempt, only the locket of his mother saved him. The force placed on the locket caused it to open, revealing a picture of Rick, Leo, and their mother; additionally, several small pills for the treatment of blindness were discovered inside it. Toward the end of the anime series Edward receives permission from the military to have Rick and his older brother Leo released and transferred to Resembool; however both Rick and Leo turn down the offer. In the manga, Rick and the old man pull Scar out of the sewer in East City after Scar's first encounter with the Homunculi. They tend to his wounds until the mercenaries try to arrest Scar, then Scar leaves the slum and they are not seen again. It is implied that the fair-skinned and fair-haired manga version of this boy is half-Ishvalan (as he reassures an injured Scar that he's safe because "Mom and I are Ishvalan too!") Rick wasn't named in the manga.
