A major antagonist from the first half of the story, Tamaki is Assistant Warden and de facto tyrant of Deadman Wonderland. Under his calm, almost idiotic attitude, he is something of a sadist, caring nothing about the fact that he butchers dozens of prisoners every day for the sole purpose of gathering money or experimenting on them, or simply for his amusement. As son of the dying Chief Warden of Deadman Wonderland, he eagerly hopes for the death of his father to become truly the supreme ruler of the prison, and he devotes much of his time and resources in studying and experimenting on the powers of the Branch of Sin and their origin. He also is in contact with the upper echelons of the Japanese government, his ultimate goal being the synthesis of artificial Deadmen. Wakabayashi is a Deadman and a former member of Scar Chain. In the anime, he was killed by Hagire Rinichirou in Toto Sakigami's body. In the manga, he was killed by Genkaku's gunfire.

Itadaki Kazuya is a large Deadman in Deadman Wonderland. He is known for eating a lot. His nickname, "Masu" (or "Mass"), is a pun when combined with his given name; the word ã�„ã�Ÿã� ã��ã�¾ã�™ (itadakimasu) is the traditional Japanese expression used when beginning a meal which is the equivalent to saying "let's eat" or "dig in." He has been shown to have a very large appetite, consuming masses of food over a short time.

A prisoner belonging to the human sector inside Deadman Wonderland. She befriended Ganta when he was admitted. After the Scar Chain incident, she was sent by Makina as a spy to the Deadmen sector and was transformed into a 'forgery,' artifical Deadman with scarcely any wills of their own, controlled by a mask they cannot take off. Ganta recognized her due to the star-shaped band-aid she put on her hand, and tried to protect her at the cost of his friendship with fellow Deadmen. Later on she teamed up with Shiro to rescue Ganta. As a child, Azami was neglected by her parents. She joined a motorcycle gang in high school and was put in jail when she took all the blame for her friends after an accident. She keeps a pet.

His father died in the Great Tokyo Earthquake. On top of that, he was severely bullied as a child. It was at that time that he decided that he should be unhappy to make others happy. It is unknown why he was sent to DW, since he didn't have a Branch of Sin to begin with. Madoka thinks that happiness grows from another's unhappiness. He tried to make the people around him as happy as possible, by being unhappy himself. But he realized that he was happy being unhappy.
