George Joestar I is Jonathan's father. He lost his wife in a carriage accident where he met Dario Brando. After Dario's death, Dio went to live with George and Jonathan at the Joestar Estate (because George thinks Dario saved his life so takes in Dio as thanks. When in actuality George knew all along but still took Dio in). Eight years later George had caught a disease. After Jonathan returned from Ogre Street, Dio attacked Jonathan with a knife (which George blocked) and got stabbed in the back. His blood landed on Dio which turned Dio into a vampire when he died. A distant ancestor of Captain Harlock and author of the book "My Youth in Arcadia," which chronicled his adventures as an aerial explorer. The one we see recalled in the Arcadia feature shows Phantom F. Harlock en route to Rabaul, New Guinea, by way of the Owen-Stanley mountain range. At first unable to crest the tall peaks, he mounts a second attempt when he seems to hear the mountains laughing at his failure. Jettisoning all excess fuel, leaving only enough for ten minutes' more flight time, he trusts his fate to the lightened plane, which he loves as his own flesh and blood, and nearing the tallest peak he sees a ghostly apparition of a woman's face: the Owen-Stanley Witch. Many people have interpreted this sequence to say that Phantom dies in the attempt, though this is at odds with all logic, as he clearly survived to write of this exploit in his book. The "Witch" incident and the necessary lightening of the Arcadia's load are paralleled by the future Captain Harlock's travails in the Flame Stream Prominence, in one of the film's most clearly expressionistic story points: note that Phantom F.'s biplane changes color during the opening sequence, a color change mimicked by the battleship Arcadia in later times. Age: 40s -50s Gender: Male Species: Human Affiliations: Hellsing Organisation Aliases: Van Hellsing, Professor Van Hellsing Abilities: Fencing Occult Knowledge Control over Alucard Dr. Abraham Van Hellsing is a Dutch doctor with a wide range of interests and accomplishments. Abraham Van Hellsing is best known as a vampire hunter, and the arch-enemy of Count Dracula. He is an ancestor of Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing.
Weary from rebuilding the Hellsing Organization's army from the Valentine Brothers' attack, as well as being dismissed from a vampire attack by MI-5 (and bothered by an ominous premonition from Alucard), Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing received a surprise visit from Laura, her sister living in the Essex area. The visit was friendly but soon unusual events were occurring: Seras Victoria was being restrained by Walter, Alucard has his first encounter with the masochistic vampire Incognito, and Integra herself was unusually fatigued. She then realized all too late the sad truth – she was an only child, and the woman claming to be her sister was in fact a vampiric assassin. "Laura Hellsing" is in reality a Baobhan Sith – a Celtic vampire often referred to as "the White Woman". Baobhan Sith often wear long green gowns, and have been known to use hypnotism to ensnare its victims. This particular one had stabbed Integra in the stomach before drawing her blood... then Alucard (because of Incognito's boasting) realized what was happening, interrupted and slew the beast before Integra was killed. And as a result, Walter was released from the enchantment that forced him to restrain Seras and both raced to Integra's aid. However, because she was bitten, Integra nearly kills herself by stabbing herself in the neck to draw out the creature's taint from her body. She was later saved in a hastily-arranged operation by Dr. Trevelyan soon afterward. (source: Absolute Anime)
