Yuri is an inexperienced sixteen-year-old Flame Haze boy, who wore an unnecessary pair of eyeglasses. He has power to control small animals and insects as a messengers, spies, and measurement, or wrap himself inside them and fly like cannonball. He was a Ukrainian immigrant, whose ship was attacked by one of the Krakens (sea-bound Denizens) during the voyage to America. Near his death he made the contract with Valac and defeated the denizen, but failed to save his family and other passengers. After reaching America, he worked under East Edge. Since he completed his vengeance so quickly, he could not develop the hatred or passion vital for the cause of Flame Haze and he lacked the coolness and rationality needed for survival. He even wished to protect people with his own life, which other Flame Hazes had thought of this idea dangerous, especially East Edge who had forbidden him to engage in combat with enemies.
Nakajima Nishiki is based off of Nakajima Ki-44 fighter, also known as Type 2 Single-Seat Fighter (Nishiki-tanza-sentouki), hence the name Nakajima Nishiki.
Akari's first customer as a Single. He is a tall, impatient young man who calls Akari "Pigtails" (momiko) to tease her. He works as an apprentice Salamander, someone who helps maintain Aqua's climate in the floating buildings that tethered overhead. Although drawn like a typical bishonen, his constant scowl combined with a loose-fitting robe usually cover up his more "attractive" features, which he rarely displays. Akatsuki has an older brother who takes great pleasure giving him a hard time. He's also Woody's childhood friend, and also knows Al the gnome, and is occasionally seen in the company of Woody and sometimes Al. (The latter much to Aika's consternation, since she doesn't like Akatsuki much, but loves Al.) Akatsuki has a rather heavy crush on Alicia, often calling the Aria company phone just to hear her away voice message. He's not adverse to spending time with Akari either if the mood strikes him, or demand of her to help him with various things, like carrying the many roses he bought for the Boccolo festival. Naturally, he took rather badly to Alicia's sudden marriage at the end of the animated series. In the same (final) episode however, he musters enough courage to invite Akari for a visit to his workplace when she would be free, which depicts he may have moved his affections over to Akari.
Futa is a young boy who ranks people by their abilities in a book half his own height. He has an extremely wide range of knowledge on thousands of people and is considered to be a valuable informant for the Mafia, sometimes being paid insane amounts of money for a copy of certain rankings, but due to this, he is often chased by the Mafia. When he ranks people, gravity around him becomes distorted, making objects around him float, and images of stars and galaxies appear in his eyes. It is unknown how he actually gathers his information, but his rankings do become skewed when it rains. He also has to be looking at the person to determine their rankings. He calls Tsuna his big brother, and starts living in his house. In the future, after gathering information with Bianchi, Futa, who now carries a suitcase rather than a book, returns to Japan with crucial information about the Millefiore Family.[83] Futa also reveals that he was Lambo's guardian until three years before Tsuna's arrival in the future, and prefers that Lambo not be endangered.
