Later in the series, it is revealed that actually, Chao is a time traveler, arriving from the future and attempting to use her genius to change history by using the power of the World Tree during the Mahora Festival to reveal the existence of magic to the world. During this story arc, she clashed with Negi Springfield, who she claims is her ancestor.

She is a kind person to everyone, volunteers at the daycare center in Mahora City and is in the Astronomy club. She is a good cook, and has exceptional domestic skills. Even though she is very nice, she can be sometimes be equally scary. Shortly after Golden Week, she found an injured dog on the side of the road. She took the dog in, which turned out to be a young half-demon boy named Kotaro Inugami, who had come to Mahora looking for Negi. Unfortunately, Graf Herrman, a powerful demon, attacked Kotaro, and kidnapped Chizuru when she stood up to him. She all but adopts Kotaro after Negi and Kotaro defeat Graf Hermann, and gets him to live in their dorm under the identity of Natsumi's younger brother. Chizuru is extremely courageous, as shown in her encounter and fight with Graf Hermann, where she calmly confronted him for his intrusion and even slapped him when he was about to petrify Kotaro. While Chizuru stays out of the fighting during the mock-battle at the festival, she does take part in the search for Chao late in the conflict, and wins a gift pack for finding her (which she promptly intimidates Kotaro and Natsumi into not disclosing). Her roommates are Ayaka, Natsumi, and Kotaro. Chizuru has the largest breasts in the class. In the Volume 8 character notes and the Negima Workshop, Ken Akamatsu mentions that Chizuru and Mutsumi Otohime from his earlier work, Love Hina, are very similar.
Mana Walker is Allen's foster father. Allen was originally abandoned by his biological parents because of his deformed left hand, which was due to his Innocence. When Mana found Allen, he decided to adopt him. Over time, Allen formed a very strong bond with Mana. It is unclear how Mana died though in the anime the secene of an over turned coach was shown. For Allen, Mana was like his father so he mourned for him. The Millennium Earl came to a grieving Allen after Mana died and offered to bring him back to life. Of course, as Allen had loved him, he accepted. Mana was then turned into an Akuma and infuriated at Allen's actions, cursed Allen by cutting the boy's left eye leaving a pentacle marking and also giving him the ability to see Akuma with his left eye. He was quickly destroyed by Allen's awakened anti-Akuma weapon. Before his Akuma form got destroyed, he told Allen that he loved him, and thanked Allen for righting the wrong he had committed. It is revealed in the manga in chapter 219 that Mana is half of the Millennium Earl. Somehow, the Millennium Earl split into two and thus Mana and Nea was born. As the Noah blood with in them start to surface, they both knew that one of them will have to devour the other in order for them to become the Millennium Earl again. Mana, the older brother, decided to consume his younger brother Nea. After Mana has killed and consume Nea, his guilt for killing his own brother caused him to believe that he is not Mana but the Millennium Earl. That Mana and the Millennium Earl are two different people.
A pink-haired girl who has a mysterious connection with Shu, Gai, Inori and Shuichiro. She is later revealed to be Shu's older sister. Ten years ago, Mana rescued a young Gai who she named Triton. Shu and Gai loved Mana as she was a sweet, kind person. However, unknown to Shu during that time, Mana was the first person to be infected with the Apocalypse Virus whos crystallization effects were still minimal but was making her unstable and sociopathic that she started to have incestous feelings for her brother. Mana was also the cause of the Lost Christmas incident when on that day, Mana discovered Gai was going to tell Shu the truth about her and trick Gai into shooting himself. When Shu himself arrived, Mana offer him to marry her and start a new race together but what she has become and did to Gai scared him that he rejected her and called her a monster. Heartbroken, Mana went berserk and mutating the virus and spreading it all over Tokyo before coming to her senses and destroying her body. This event effected both Gai and Shu which Gai blamed himself for not helping Mana and vowing to become stronger while Shu was traumatized on what happen to his sister that he regressed his memories of Gai and Mana. During the 2nd Apocalypse outbreak and Shuichiro's coup d'état, Shuichiro manages to capture Mana's soul, still under the influence of the virus, and tries to resurrect her using Inori's body so that both of them will start a new race and spread the virus worldwide. However, his attempts are foiled by Shu and Gai. To free Mana's soul and be with her in her last moments, a dying Gai sacrifice himself to allow Shu to stab the crystal pod containing Mana's soul through his body, finally freeing Mana's soul from the virus.
Mana Jones is first introduced in episode 21 as the caretaker of the new relaxation lounge that Dr.Thunderland Jr. set up. Mana there tells Lag of how Gauche and the doctor helped her in her potpourri research. One night, Mana fell asleep causing a fire in panic she ran into her shelves that contained toxic chemicals which spilled on her eyes and left her blind. Thunderland learns from the Bioscience Advisory Panel that she voluntarily resigned after the incident. In frustration, he threatens to have her dissected. Gauche learns of the doctor's outburst and discovers that Thunderland is aware of Mana's potential and concerned about her future. Thunderland looks for rare helenseed that will help in her research, and has a bottle delivered by Gauche, which touches her. During the panel's decision to terminate Mana's contract, Mana appears with Gauche with her request to continue. However the panel still decides to terminate her services. Seeing Mana's determination, the panel chairman challenges her and Thunderland to complete her research within a week to prove her results, otherwise she will have to leave. (Source: Wikipedia)
