He is the anime representation of the Jewish person of the same name. He was the father of Anne Frank, and the sole member of his family to survive the Holocaust. His full name is Otto Heinrich "Pim" Frank. Otto Frank took his family into hiding on 6 July 1942 in the upper rear rooms of the Opekta premises on the Prinsengracht. They were joined a week later by Hermann van Pels and his wife and son, and in November by Fritz Pfeffer, also known in Anne's diary as Mr. Dussel. Their concealment was aided by Otto Frank's colleagues Johannes Kleiman, whom he had known since 1923, Miep Gies, Victor Kugler, and Bep Voskuijl. They were concealed for two years, until they were betrayed by an anonymous informant in August 1944. Frank, his family, the four people he hid with, and Kugler and Kleiman were arrested by SS Officer Karl Silberbauer. After being imprisoned in Amsterdam, the Jewish prisoners were sent to the Dutch transit camp of Westerbork and finally to Auschwitz. It was here, in September, that Frank was separated forever from his wife and daughters. He was sent to the men's barracks and found himself in the sick barracks when he was liberated by Soviet troops on 27 January 1945. He travelled back to the Netherlands over the next six months and set about tracing his arrested family and friends. By the end of 1945, he knew he was the sole survivor of the family, and of those who had hidden in the house on the Prinsengracht. Otto Frank passed away due to lung cancer on the 19 August, 1980. Falkner's only anime appearance was in the episode Fighting Flyer with Fire. When Ash's Pikachu gets stolen by Team Rocket, Falkner arrives and rescues Pikachu with the help of his Pidgeot. He flies around on a glider, yearning to be as close to Flying Pokémon as he possibly can be. He is usually seen with his Hoothoot on his shoulder. Falkner has a self-righteous attitude when it comes to Pokémon training, which tends to anger Ash. Falkner also expresses an intense dislike for the prejudice against the Flying-types' weakness to Electric-types, but proves a slight hypocrisy as he criticizes Ash's poor choice of using Chikorita (weak to Flying-types) in their match. The Violet City Gym itself is a very tall, spiral-shaped building. Falkner has his matches on the roof of the Gym. Falkner has many students who chant in unison during his battles. Ash was able to win the Zephyr Badge, despite his Charizard's wing being severely injured during the match.

A boy from the city of Daizaifu in Kyūshū, Hayato becomes one of Tatara's first allies. He is the successor to the sword of Suzaku, but specializes in the use of bow and arrows. Hayato is scatterbrained, but because he gets the others out of many dangerous situations, he becomes a sort of mascot figure for the Tatara Army.

One of the members in the expedition for Nanakimura village. He apparently has a quiet personality and rarely interacts with anyone besides Mitsumune. When younger, Hayato decided to protect Mitsumune from getting bullied in school. Ever since, he gets angry whenever Mitsumune is about to do something inappropriate. He was abused by his parents who lived in a posh residential area. They didn't fit in with the neighbours, so they tried to show off their 'ideal' son. If Hayato did anything his parents disliked, he would get abused and thrown into the attic, where his grandmother was left to die.

Souma is Kendappa's best friend and the last survivor of the Souma clan. Her clan was killed by Taishakuten and her parents were beheaded right before her eyes. Her parents had hid Souma in some bushes so she did not get killed. After that day, she had always dreamed of getting revenge and beating the crap out of Taishakuten, and she set out traveling by herself. She passed out in a forest, out of exhaustion, and that was when Kendappa-ou comes a-riding into the forest on her horse, and happens to see Souma laying there unconscious. The people of the Souma clan were gardeners, so Souma is skilled in making healing herbs and medicines. She also has weapons, the Sougeppa, or Twin Moon Crescents. They're kind of like miniature crescent-shaped boomerangs that she can throw out, and they can cut off people's heads and stuff. Souma also makes a good spy. She's fast and jumpy, likes to hide up in trees, and seems to disappear or appear all of a sudden in front of the group to bring them news of any of Taishakuten's armies who are on their trails. It's revealed that she and Kendappa-ou are in love with each other. Souma is killed by Kendappa-ou. Kendappa-ou believed that Souma could not win against Taishakuten so she rather kill Souma herself. Souma wanted to give her blood to Kendappa-ou (there was a legend where the Souma clan could grant immortality to one person in their life if they give their blood to that person) so she would not die but Taishakuten stopped her from doing so. The two bodies was put next to each other. (source: Nishi's RG Veda Gallery)
