Taishi is a young man who comes to the Horse's Bone bookstore one day after tracking down Rotten Girl on the way to work. He bears a grudge against Umio. He is in fact, Rotten Girl's younger brother. He is in 7th grade and so he is still a middle schooler.

Although being friends with Takayuki, Haruka and Mitsuki in high school, he drifts off from the group after graduation. However, he becomes an important character towards the end of the series.
