Called Bird's Nest because of his wild black hair, Bird's Nest works as a clown at a circus. His real name is not known. As a clown he is treated rather poorly by the others, especially by the Prima Donna, Mina. It is revealed later in the story that he used to work as a trapeze artist along with his half-brother, Michel. However, Michel died after falling off the trapeze and hence, Bird's Nest became a clown. It seems that he cared very much for Michel, as he still keeps his journal and talks to him in his head. A Japanese Diplomat, Oonagi, sees him in the show and likes what he sees. He purchases him afterwards, but tells him that he won't have sex with him yet. Instead, he'll purchase him after every performance, and later Bird's Nest can tell him whether he likes him or not. After one particularly traumatizing performance, where one performer dies, Oonagi takes Bird's Nest away and gives him a new life. He also gives him a new name: Oonagi Takeo.

Taka is one of the children Ryuuichi Kashima babysits. He is the son of Shizuka Kamitani, a science teacher at the middle school, and he is the younger brother of Hayato, who he looks up to. The two share a bittersweet relationship, in which his brother sometimes expresses his love. Most of the time, however, he hits Taka on the head as punishment (a running joke in the manga). Their father is later revealed to be Hebihara Taizou, a chemistry teacher at the high school. Taka is very talkative. He is close friends with Kotarou and is friendly toward all the other children in the daycare.
