Age: 17 Height: 176 cm Weight: 70 kg Type: Dou Type: Katsujin Ken (Satsujin Ken while in Yomi) Yomi Symbol: Moon Martial Arts: Chinese Kenpo (PÄ« Guà Quán and BÄ Jí Quán) Tanimoto Natsu was the former Sixth Fist of Ragnarok, and is the disciple of Ma Sougetsu, an unofficial captain of the Shinpaku Alliance, the holder of the Moon Symbol of Yomi and is one of Kenichi's main rivals. He is a tall fair-skinned man with dark blue eyes, spiky yet wavy chin-length blond hair, with a well-defined built and respectably muscular frame. A noticeable trait of Tanimoto is the look his eyes during the situation he is in. While maintaining his kind-demeanor, his eyes are big and calm. When angered or fighting, his eyes narrow with small cat-like pupils. A recurring theme in his appearance is that he is considered quite handsome by nearly all girls near his age. Tanimoto typically wears a white-grey shirt with a red cross on it, similar to the design of a crusader, at school. As Hermit, Tanimoto wears a dark hood and cloak with arm bands and leather boots, with pentagrams sewn into his leather gloves. Originally, the symbols on his gloves were that of the Roman numeral number six (VI). However, after his defection from Ragnarok, he changes the symbols to a pair of pentagrams. Tanimoto is the president of the drama club at Kenichi's school and is considered to be the school's "prince", pretending to be a kind and soft spoken student, which plays well seeing how he is popular with both teachers and students. To further the illusion that he is a gentle and kind person, he makes sure not to reveal his muscular build, and even claims that the sun is bad for his skin just to prevent his body from being shown off during the camping trip. He claims to have only joined the drama club to practice deceiving others, and is only nice because he perceives popularity as a way to control people. In truth, he is cold, ill-tempered, and extremely prideful. He also whacks Kenichi and Nijima or threaten them whenever they try getting too close (both figuratively and literally). Tanimoto also can't stand it when Kenichi calls him Natsu-chan to which he irritably responds "Who's Natsu-chan?!" The words left by his sister Kaede as a request not to lose affected him tremendously, to the point where he will continue to fight even if he is knocked unconscious as seen in his second fight with Kenichi, and later in his death match with Chou Enshin. However, this also leads to him refusing to quit anything such as when he stubbornly refuses to stopping playing Othello with Honoka until he manages to beat her which, in turn, leads to him being regularly forced to do anything she asks him to do, every time he loses. His relationship to Honoka is very similar to his late sister, possibly that he sees Honoka as his little sister from before. After losing to Kenichi, he regularly discards his kind personality to those that don't already know about his true nature. Despite refusing to accept Kenichi and the others as his friends, Tanimoto's demeanor has changed considerably since meeting Kenichi and his sister. While still maintaining his cold-attitude, he has become less hostile towards people getting close to him, particularly Honaka. Surprised at how strong Kenichi believes in the ideals of friendship and how they have helped him to come so far as a martial artist have also caused him to have doubts about the path he walks an actually come to Kenichi and his friends' aid, though he always claims he is merely doing it for his own needs such as revenge. Since his official joining of Yomi, Tanimoto has reached a crossroad in his life; While an unofficial ally of Kenichi, he has intentionally fought each time without killing as a Katsujin Ken believer, while Yomi is a firm believer of Satsujin Ken, meaning he is destined to eventually choose one of the two paths. In the battle against Fortuna (a master-level opponent), Hermit was instrumental in dealing a crippling blow that lead to the first time in series that disciple level students defeated a master. In the climax of the series, he repeats this feat aided by two other ex-members of Ragnarok. Upon defeat, the master claims that the disciples are approaching master level. It is ultimately revealed that he joined Yomi in order to save his master from Yami.
First appearance: Battle 14 Age: 18 Type: Dou Type: Satsujin Ken Martial Arts: Tae Kwon Do Kouga Taichi, also known as Kouga the Kicker, was part of the Techniques Trio along with Takeda Ikki and Ukita Kouzou in Ragnarok and the only one out of the three that did not join Shinpaku Alliance. Kouga is a young man of average height with short dark hair and wears a headband on his head. He wears a white shirt with an open blue shirt over it and shorts with pockets. He's also shown to have a bit of a feminine look. He also wears a long earrings on his left ear. In the anime, he is much shorter than he is in the manga. Unlike Takeda and Ukita, he seems to bear hateful grudges against Kenichi, who he plans to take down himself, and Miu, whom he calls "Neko Shojo" (Cat Girl). He never truly cared for Takeda or Ukita and was fine with beating them up for their betrayal. Though he is a strong fighter, he possesses a carefree attitude, which usually earns him a beating from Kisara. He is very loyal to Ragnarok and is always eager to deliver punishments to those who betray the gang. He can even be seen as ruthless and somewhat sadistic, as he had planned to break Ukita's arm by jumping and snapping it in two with a falling-axe kick but thankfully he was thwarted. Even some of his men thought that was a little too much but Kouga wanted to do it cause Ukita threw him into garbage and thought it would be fun. Kouga is first shown when Takeda showed his desire to fight Kenichi. When Kenichi and Miu were walking home from shopping, Kouga and his gang ran into them and prepared to fight them. He showed an interest in Miu, but once she beat all of his men and kicked him, he grew to develop a grudge against him. Kenichi would then fight him and deliver a shallow punch on his chin and cause him to lose his balance which defeated him. He later appeared to give Takeda his farewell beating for leaving Ragnarok and was shocked that Ukita betrayed them and sided with Takeda by throwing Kouga in the trash. When Ukita was caught, he planned to jump up and break his arm despite the others protests, but was thwarted by Kenichi's punch in the back. The next day, he laughed at Kisara's loss against Miu. He traveled with Kisara to ruin Miu's play, but when Kenichi showed up and stopped them, Kouga was again defeated by Kenichi. When Kisara's gang joined Shinpaku, Kouga was forced to get along with the other members of the alliance. However, he was actually a double agent for Loki and when he tried to give Niijima some soda with laxatives in it, Niijima saw through this and forced Kouga to drink it and he ran away needing a bathroom. His current whereabouts are unknown, but with Ragnarok disbanded, it's likely he now is still a thug or forced to go back to school.

Haruko Nanase had always been at the bottom of her class since elementary school, for that reason her classmates laughed at her, leaving young Haruko depressed. However, while she was in middle school a kind teacher gave her the strength to try again and, with this new motivation, Haruko tried again until, eventually, her hard work paid off and she reached the top. Having now entered Shuutoku High (a private school known for the students' intellectual abilities) as the top student, Haruko’s quiet days reach an end when she meets Chiharu Hachiya, a delinquent who was able to enter the school through connections despite his absurdly bad grades, on the train. After a bumpy start, the two grow closer as they reveal their nature to the other. In Haruko’s impossible quest to help Chiharu’s grades get better, they meet Misawa Akari who bears a grudge against Haruko for stealing the first rank. However, Haruko still ends up helping Akari and the two become somewhat rivals (from Akari’s view) and allies. Even though Haruko is fearsomely intelligent (being ranked 10th in the whole country), she doesn’t know how to interact with those around her, having her actions often misunderstood by her classmates. Due to this and her quiet, serious personality, she was used to be by herself; but after both Chiharu and Akari started hanging around her, Haruko unknowingly started getting used to having company and even feels lonely when a misunderstanding causes a fight between her and Chiharu.
