Age: 18 Birthdate: July 8 Height: 170 cm Weight: 58 kg Occupation: First Division Captain Shinsengumi Okita is the best swordsman in the Shinsengumi. Personality-wise, he tends to be light-hearted and somewhat childish though his speech is heavily deadpan. He outwardly displays annoyance and dislike for Hijikata, and continuously tries to kill (or at least badly wound) Hijikata whenever he has the chance so that he can become the Vice-Commander. Losing his parents at a young age, he was raised by his sister, Mitsuba. Thus, although he is sadistic and violent towards other people, Okita absolutely adores his sister and does everything he can to please her. Mitsuba is one of the reasons why Okita hates Hijikata. Okita viewed Hijikata as a rival for his sister's attention. He also greatly dislikes the fact that Hijikata treated Mitsuba coldly, although Mitsuba clearly showed signs of liking Hijikata. Okita has great affection and fondness for Kondo, who took him under his wings when he was little. He still regards Hijikata as one of his three friends (the other two being Kondo and Gintoki). He enjoys seeing women fight, finding the ugly looks on their faces as they grab each other being hilarious. He wears a distinctive eye mask when taking a nap during duty, which is a frequent occurrence. At one point, he refers to himself as the best sniper in the Shinsengumi. Although he is a master of kenjutsu, he uses a bazooka more often. He also regards Kagura as a rival after an unfinished rock-paper-scissors duel during a sakura-blossom party. He states that he'll "be the only one to defeat her", and usually calls her "China". In the original Japanese manga he likes to end his sentences in "~desaa" and "~desuzee." In Sorachi's original character design, Okita was a female, and wielded an umbrella. In the character popularity poll, he got 2nd place. In volume 12, Okita's age is revealed to be 18. Despite being under Japan's legal drinking age, in Edo, you can drink alcohol from 15. His name is based on the historical Okita Souji.

With a porcelain face that men would (and have) fought over, Yun-Jin is the most desired girl at school. However, her beautiful face comes with a price: All of the girls at school hate her for it. On any given day she can find her locker trashed or her gym outfit torn to pieces. It's not to say that she hasn't done something to deserve it partially, since she also has a terrible attitude under that perfect complexion. Yun-Jin also treats her cousin Miha like a slave, for reasons she will not divulge. It may have to do with an incident in her past concerning Miha. Yun-Jin lived with Miha's family for a while when she was in elementary school after her father's death. Yun-Jin's father had been an alcoholic and had been beating Yun-Jin for a very long time. Due to their pride, Yun-Jin and her mother hid the bruises from the rest of the family. As a result Yun-Jin also suffered seizures whenever faced with violence. Miha's mother spoiled Yun-Jin because of this, and took Yun-Jin's side in any argument, as well as giving away many of Miha's possessions. In one instance Miha's mother gave away her favorite doll, and when Miha tried to reclaim it, Yun-Jin had a seizure, and Miha got scolded. Naturally this was incredibly frustrating for Miha. Yun-Jin also idolized Miha, and would follow her without question. Frustrated, Miha took Yun-Jin back to her old house with the intention of leaving her there, but Yun-Jin had a seizure. Scared, Miha ran off and Yun-Jin wandered the streets for days, eventually ending up in the hospital after an accident. It is unknown whether she still bears a grudge towards Miha because of this, or because of other factors. Yun-Jin does not like Seung-Suh approaching Miha, especially because he keeps telling Yun-Jin to start taking care of herself and to stop relying on Miha. She is willing to do almost anything to keep them apart.
School: Seirin High Number: 7 Position: Center Height: 193 cm (6'4") Weight: 178 lbs (81 kg) Age: 17 Blood type: O Birthday: June 10 The progenitor of Seirin's basketball team and its ace, Kiyoshi is the last of the original Seirin team members to be introduced, due to a hospitalization for a knee injury he got during a game. Rumored to be very capable, his preferred position is that of the point guard, but since their team lacked any other player with the body size to play center, he offered to fill that hole. On Koganei's suggestion, he apparently tries to play both, despite the inherent impossibility. While goofy nearly to the point of stupidity, he is very shrewd and is almost always plotting something, though it is rarely what others would inherently conclude. With a pair of big hands that allow him to grasp the ball in play single-handedly, Kiyoshi possesses immense ball-handling skills, and an uncanny sense of timing that allows him to make decisions on-court after his opponents have already reacted. He is renowned and even revered by many players in the realm of high-school basketball, and is one of the few players to have held his own against the Generation of Miracles during their peak. While he is currently able to play, the knee injury he sustained during his freshman year was quite severe: formally speaking it required surgery, but the process would make him unable to play basketball for the rest of his high school career. He instead opted to rehabilitate without invasive procedures, though he would only be able to do so for one year at the best. Despite this setback, he vows to make the most of the time he has. Among high school basketball players, he is one of the 'Uncrowned Kings' (ç„¡å† ã®äº”å°† [mukan no goshou]), a group of five players, though overshadowed by the Generation of Miracles, of such great prowess and skill, had it not been for Kuroko and his ilk, they may have attained the greater moniker. Famous for his unaccountable form and stabilizing presence, he is known as 'Iron Heart' (鉄心[tesshin]).
