Kouya Marino is the younger brother of Yuya Marino and the main protagonist of Crush Gear Turbo. Like any of the Gear Fighters, Kouya dreams to become a World Cup champion. Hence, the anime’s storyline revolves around his struggle to become a great Gear Fighter similar to his late brother. Kouya’s Crush Gear is Garuda Eagle which is inherited from Yuya, and later on in the series, Garuda Phoenix. He is also seen using Battlehawk during the elimination match in the first episode. During his participation in Gear Pancratum as Sukiyaking, he uses Ark Cavalier which is given by Sean Firestone, a Gear Master whom he met in San Francisco.

Kawasumi is a 15 year old student who attends Shuudai High. He is childhood friends with Ryosuke, and he is most attracted to the popular Suiren. Kawasumi is particularly talented in karate as he can easily defeat 3 attackers at the same time, and he was also the champion of a particular tournament (chapter 18). Kawasumi was first seen as the only man who did not look Suiren's way. His first real encounter with her was when he saved her and her things from a senpai. Since then, the attraction between the two grew; Kawasumi would only talk to Suiren and Suiren, in return, would try her best to converse only towards him. By eating with each other on the rooftop, secretly going to the cultural festival together, and walking home with each other, their relationship developed.

Birthday: February 25 (Piscis) Height: 170 cm Weight: 300 kg Sadaharu has the outward appearance of a giant dog, but is actually an inugami. When sitting on his haunches, he is taller than most humans. He was left in front of Gintoki's apartment in a box that had "To Mr. Freelancer" written on it. Sadaharu chomps on anything smaller than itself, such as Gintoki's and other people's heads. Kagura seems to be the only one who can control him, for she has immense strength, though he chomps on her occasionally. Though he was dangerous when Gintoki first received him, he has become quite tame in the later episodes, and has helped the main characters in many occasions. He was named by Kagura, after her first pet, a rabbit which she accidentally killed while having a nightmare. He was originally owned by a pair of miko sisters, who initially called him Kamiko.
