"Ace Attorney" and main character of the first three games, Phoenix has wanted to be a defense lawyer since he was a kid, and first appears as the new addition to Mia Fey's law practice. Personality: Phoenix is generally easy-going, which usually leads to his friends leading him around. He's dedicated to defending his innocent clients, but because he's just starting out he depends a lot on his boss and mentor, Mia Fey. Phoenix is also a loyal friend who won't back down once he's set his mind on something. He has a bit of a sarcastic side that he usually keeps to himself. Misc Facts: Phoenix does not have a driver's license or a car. It's also a little unclear where he actually lives... In the original game art for Gyakuten Saiban, Naruhodou was pictured with brown eyes. In the new DS art, however, he's pictured with blue eyes. This has led to the fan opinion that Naruhodou has brown eyes, while Phoenix's are blue. Phoenix has been known to tip cows (in the American version). The first suggestion for Phoenix's Japanese name was "Souka Naruhodo" ("Oh, yes, I see now") but that was quickly struck down by higher members of the staff. They settled for just Naruhodou instead. Director Takumi speculates that before studying to become a lawyer, Phoenix may have gone to college to become a Shakespearean actor. Character artist Suekana, however, prefers to think he would have been a manga artist. Phoenix was portrayed by voice actor Takayuki Kondou in the TGS special cases. His other roles include Hiroto Honda (Tristen) in Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Takani in Busou Renkin. Dahlia's nickname for Phoenix is "Feenie" (Ryu-chan originally). Friends and Family: Phoenix is an only child, but he's close friends with Larry Butz prior to the game, and is Mia Fey's employee. No reference as to his parents. Name Origin: English: "Phoenix" comes as a reference to his uncanny ability to turn around cases which were almost lost (as the phoenix comes back from the dead). "Wright" is simply a pun ("Is that right, Mr. Wright?"). Japanese: "Naruhodou" comes from the Japanese word "naruhodo," which means, "I see" or "Is that so?" Ryuuichi is simply a name the creator liked (though its use of the kanji for dragon is played upon in GS3). In Phoenix Wright, the Feys call Phoenix "Nick," as a shortened form of "Phoenix." Yui is very active and expressive. She's a bit small, but she holds ranks in Karate, and even won tournaments when she was in middle school. She absolutely loves cute things, and her room at home is filled with fancy items. She always ends up insulting Aoki when he tries to approach her. It is revealed that Yui was almost raped in middle school, thus starting to suffer from androphobia. Taichi helps her get rid of this phobia after she tells him about this incident. Supposedly born on Naboo, reliable records of Palpatine's past were hard to come by, but he somehow managed to become Naboo's representative in the Galactic Senate. His real identity was that of Darth Sidious, having been trained in the ways of the Sith by the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis. As he slowly rose through the ranks of intergalactic politics, Palpatine orchestrated the war between the CIS and the Republic, using various Sith apprentices as pawns, such as Darth Maul and Darth Tyranus. His master plan concluded with the scourge of the Jedi Order and proclaiming himself Emperor, and turning Anakin Skywalker into the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The series' most prominent villain, Alphard is an attractive young woman who is both the leader of a terrorist organization called Snake and Canaan's arch-enemy. She appears easily capable of taking down Canaan even though the latter uses her synesthesia, reasoning that she is no longer manipulated by feelings unlike Canaan. In order to balance the immense positive magic of the Clow Cards, Clow Reed created the Nothing Card (ç„¡), containing negative magic equivalent in magnitude to the other fifty-two cards. Anything that comes into contact with it will cease to exist. Nothing appears in the second movie and is terribly lonely in the beginning, unable to interact with others without destroying them. The only beings that can interact with her safely are the other Clow Cards. As a result, Nothing tries to steal the Clow Cards (now Sakura Cards) so that she would not be alone again. Nothing's presence is vastly encompassing, once detecting Eriol's attempt to call Sakura about the card and destroying the phone lines as a result. Nothing continues to steal the Sakura Cards and destroys everyone and everything that Sakura holds dear; Nothing likely views Sakura as a villain who stole her "friends" (the Clow Cards) and intends for Sakura to suffer the same pain of loss that it has felt for centuries. In the end, the Sakura Cards try to return to Sakura, and Nothing falls into hysterical despair, believing that her friends have abandoned her. However, Sakura convinces Nothing that it can be her friend, too, together with all the Cards. She returns Nothing to a Clow Card form and then transforms it into a Sakura Card by merging it with the Nameless card to form The Hope. All the damage and deaths caused by Nothing are then miraculously undone. Nothing is composed of a spherical force field of emptiness where nothing exists. In the center of this force field, one could make out a young girl with long, silvery hair wearing a frilled dress. There is a constant expression of sorrow on the girl's face. In Clannad: Another World, Tomoyo Chapter Tomoya and Tomoyo find interest in each other and become lovers. Although reluctantly, Tomoya assists Tomoyo in becoming the student council president. With Tomoyo's relationship with Tomoya spreads fast in school, the school bodies try to separate Tomoyo and Tomoya, in hope Tomoyo will concentrate more in her position. With Tomoya worrying about his delinquent status will hold down Tomoyo, Tomoya reluctantly breaks up with Tomoyo in order to let her keep moving forward. After several months, Tomoyo meets up with Tomoya, telling him that she successfully saved the cherry blossom trees from being cut down but she lost something precious in return: her time with Tomoya. She then confesses to Tomoya that she wants only him and will follow him to the odd ends. Tomoya is touched by her words and decides to resume being lovers. After Tomoya graduates in spring, he sees both Takafumi and Tomoyo off to school, with both of them admiring the beauty of the cherry blossom. Tomoyo's story continues at Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life, Key's fifth game, a sequel to Clannad, as the main heroine. In the Movie In the movie, Tomoyo was already a student council president when Tomoya just met Nagisa, and her relationship with Youhei and Kyou is better compared to the game and anime.

According to the scriptwriters, he has the most appearance in the School Life arc. In the movie, Youhei is depicted less as a comic relief character and is more serious about life, such as when he gets a part-time job due to his family's financial situations. He also gets along with Tomoyo and the two even worked together to ease Tomoya's depression.
