A young woman preparing to take high school entrance exams at the beginning of the story. Tired out, she falls asleep in the snow one day and is discovered by Kai, who she immediately becomes close to when he decides to tutor her. They fall in love, but Kai stands her up after promising to meet her after she gets her exam results. The same day as she is stood up, she meets Takami, who she congratulates on also passing. They are classmates from then on, and Takami develops a great deal of affection for her since she was the only one to congratulate him for passing. One day she follows Takami and discovers him visiting Kai's grave. Takami is forced to explain that he is Kai's younger brother, and Kai, fatally ill, had asked him to take care of Atsuki if he should die. The revelation puts some distance between them, but Atsuki and Takami come to terms with their own feelings and confess their mutual love.
A young man who finds Atsuki sleeping in the snow one day, tired out from preparing for high school entrance exams. Despite his illness keeping him from attending school, Kai is quite intelligent and resolves to tutor Atsuki, growing closer to her in the process. He promises to meet her at the school the day Atsuki finds out the exam results, but never shows up. Atsuki learns later that Kai's illness was more serious than he let on, and his absence was only due to his untimely death. Beforehand, he asked Takami, his younger brother, to take care of Atsuki if the worst should happen.
A duel monster spirit who is one of the servants of the Crimson Dragon and the dragon associated with Signer Luca. When Luca was 3 and entered the duel monster spirit world Ancient Fairy Dragon watched over her. She warned Luca of an evil that threatened the land and had Luca promise that she would protect it. Despite returning to her own world soon after, Luca never forgot the promise she made.
A treasure hunter who loves jewels, especially the Chaos Emeralds. Due to this, she has found herself fighting against both Sonic's team and Eggman's team, though she tends to side with Sonic most of the time. Her treasure hunting ways have made her a rival to Knuckles, guardian of the Chaos Emeralds. Though confident in her abilities (and a skilled fighter), she knows when to escape, and also knows that fighting is not always the answer.
Keita, Ako, and Riko's father. He completely supports his son having relations with any of the women in the story. Nothing shocks him and he is always rooting for Keita.
