He claims to know over 1,000 different techniques. He has an oval-shaped face with a Fu Manchu moustache and wears a queue hairstyle. On his forehead is the kanji 中 (Chuu), which is the first character in 中国 (Chuugoku), the Japanese word for China. Unlike most Choujins he lacks a muscular body and instead possesses an athletic build, particularly in the earlier chapters when he had a bony and slender build and his cheekbones stuck out. During the time of his first appearance (20th Choujin Olympics Arc), he is known as the Most Zangyaku Choujin (残è™�超人, Brutal Superman) and kills many of his opponents, but as the series progresses he fights as a Seigi Choujin (正義超人, Justice Superman). During his Zangyaku Choujin days, he was a gentleman after leaving the ring and even disliked using weapons. At one point in the series, he is in a vegetative state due to a severe head injury. So he assumes the identity of Mongolman (モンゴルマン) for a while, wearing a special mask made of a healing tree bark, so that he can fight once again. He was also one of the few characters in Kinnikuman to never die. He became very popular with readers (more than Kinnikuman himself), ranking 3rd in both the Good and Evil categories of the first Character Poll and then ranking First in the 2nd Poll. Yudetamgo have stated that they originally intended for him to be merely a one time villain for the Choujin Olympics, but he became so popular after his Third Place Determination Match against Terryman that they decided to keep him around. King Enma Jr., usually addressed as Koenma (コエンマ, "little Enma"), is the son of Enma (rendered as "Enma" in the English manga and "Yama," the Sanskrit name, in the English anime), the ruler of the spirit realm, and the one responsible for appointing Yusuke Urameshi as spirit detective. His Japanese seiyū is Mayumi Tanaka and his English voice is Sean Teague in the Funimation dub. In the first movie, The Golden Seal, he is voiced by Brianne Siddall. In the second movie, Bonds of Fire, he is voiced by Eric Stuart. Koenma's name is a combination of his father's name (Enma) and Ko, Japanese for "child". Koenma first appears as a toddler, which he is often teased about, though he is at least 700 years old and has extensive knowledge of the universe. Koenma is a basic comic relief character and is often shown cowardly. However, if Yusuke or any of the others are in immediate danger, he will help all he can. He comes off as a good leader and a nice guy for the most part. His job in Spirit World is to decide who goes to Heaven, and who goes to Hell. Some think this should be his father's job, but King Enma is too busy on business trips most of the time. Koenma can turn into his teenage form, after thinking that Yusuke and Kuwabara will make fun of him. Also, he has a Jr. sign on his forehead, and still has his pacifier, which has been carried in his mouth for most of his existence, storing up his spirit energy. When the power is unleashed, it creates the Mafukkan, Spirit World's most powerful defensive spell. Depending on how much energy Koenma places in the pacifier, he can seal demons of varying strength. At the time of the Chapter Black Saga, Koenma can seal an S class apparition with ease. He is responsible for the Spirit Detectives, which is a job he requested. When Shinobu Sensui attempts to unite the human and demon worlds, he feels responsible for him. In fact, when he unleashes his Mafukkan on Sensui, he is prepared to suffer with him, unmoving for eternity, as atonement. Koenma betrays his father when he sides with Yusuke after the Spirit Defense Force wanted to kill Yusuke for being a Mazoku. So Koenma lives in the human world for a short while, afraid of Enma's fury; Koenma later returns to the spirit world. In the manga, Koenma overthrows Enma after Enma was discovered to have deliberately allowed demons into the human world to cause conflict.

Yoshiyuki Terada is a teacher at Tomoeda Elementary School. During the series, as the main characters go through fourth grade, and enter the fifth grade, he acts as their home room teacher. He is also shown teaching in other classes, including the physical education classes, and he acts as the chaperon on school several field trips. As the series progresses, it is revealed that he is having a romantic relationship with his student Rika Sasaki. In the manga, they become engaged when he gives her a ring, noting that he hopes it will one day become her wedding ring. Rika gives him a teddy bear she made and named after herself, which legends says will allow them to remain in love forever. Towards the end of the series, when Sakura is unsure of her feelings about Li, the couple is shown having a picnic at a park, with Terada slipping away so Sakura doesn't notice him. During the series, none of the other characters appear to know about the relationship, though when Rika is taken over by the Sword card, Sakura hears her call out "Sensei" (teacher) when she uses the illusion card to show Rika her most beloved. In the anime adaptation, their relationship is not shown in the same light. Their engagement and more romantic scenes between them are removed, and Rika notes that Terada reminds her of her absentee father. Terada is also shown accepting cakes made by Rika and in accepting the bear and naming it after his "hardest working student." In the Cardcaptors English dub, he is simply called Mr. Terada, and all aspects of the romantic relationship between Terada and Rika are completely removed, with Rika's shyness and reactions to him made to appear to be more of a general fear of men than romantic feelings. In the anime series, he is voiced by T�ru Furusawa for the first season and first movie, and by Katsuyuki Konishi for the second and third seasons and the second film.
