Anne's bosom friend and kindred spirit. Anne and Diana become best friends from the moment they meet. She is the only girl of Anne's age who lives close to Green Gables. While Anne does not think Diana is very imaginative, Diana is noted for being pretty, merry and very amiable. She is often puzzled by Anne's extreme imagination, but she does have a little imagination of her own. She decides against going to Queens Academy with Anne to pursue her own way of life, caring for Anne to the end and supporting her every time Anne comes to visit.
Loco is the strongest Rook and one of the first Chess Pieces introduced. Loco's name means a patron of healers in the religion of Voodoo, a reference to her ÄRM Straw Doll (Spikes and Hammer). Loco was born 32 years before the main part of the series. At age 26, Loco, at that point a Pawn, the lowest Chess Piece rank, was given the order to participate in the attacking of a, unknown, town. While fighting, Loco's only ÄRM the Weapon ÄRM Ring Dagger, was broken, leaving Loco defenseless. While stumbling throughout the battling village, Loco crossed paths with a midget-like cloaked figure carrying a large suitcase. The cloaked person asked Loco if she wanted strength, to which she answered that she only wanted power to fight with. The cloaked person then gave Loco the suitcase, telling her it was full of seven Darkness ÄRMs, the cost of using being reversed aging, and the mysterious figure died from the ARM's effects. Using the Darkness ÄRMs, Loco eventually increased in the ranking system to the strongest of the Rooks. The Darkness ÄRMs affects had damaged her, however, as her body had been transformed into a young child's by the series' beginning.

A sweet and bubbly girl transfer student who becomes one of Jiyu's close friends. Just like Jiyu, she is also popular with the boys. She is originally from Russia but really is interested in the Japanese culture. Freesia is over 300 years old. She was frozen in a block of ice after a fight got to out of hand. When global warming started she was unfrozen and was taken to Japan. It turns out that she is the daughter of Yagyu Jubei. When she heard about the lovely eyepatch, she made her own eyepatch (spade) to give her the power to get the lovely eyepatch from Jiyu. She will stop at to make sure she gets that eyepatch and make sure that everyone knows that she is the the true, Yagyu Jubei II
Allenby Beardsley is the Gundam fighter for Neo-Sweden, as well as the only female fighter to make it to the tournament. She pilots the Nobel Gundam. Abandoned as a young child, she was taken in by the Neo-Swedish Space Forces to train. While she was there, she became the victim of a series of cruel military-run experiments to create the perfect Gundam fighter. This was called the Berserker System, which used radio frequencies to turn Allenby into a crazed savage, and raised her fighting abilities by 120%. Later in the story, the technicians behind the Berserker System discontinued its use; however, Wong created a duplicate of the Berserker System and used it against Allenby once again. He kidnapped her and infected her with DG cells. She was also used to pilot the Walter Gundam after being turned into a devil by Wong. His original intentions were to make her the pilot of the Devil Gundam itself, but he was stopped by Rain Mikamura. Allenby and Domon have a lot in common which tends to make Rain really jealous since Allenby seems to get along with Domon in ways Rain can't, but Rain doesn't hold it against Allenby. Domon and Allenby met in an arcade, fighting each other on a virtual fighter machine. They soon learn who each other are, and become close friends throughout the story. Though she doesn't bear a Shuffle crest, the alliance regards her with due respect.
