Magno Vivian is the commander of the pirates and everyone addresses her 'Boss'. She is one of the first-generation colonists from Earth that was onboard the Ikazuchi colony ship, hoping to populate other planets around the galaxy. She is over a hundred years old and is filled to the brim with knowledge and wisdom, most of which reflects the same kind of wisdom that can be applied to both genders, before their separation into Mejare and Taraak. She often hands out pieces of advices and directs the crew in their duties. Also, though not directly stated, she may be Hibiki Tokai's sister. This can be derived from the picture she has of herself when on the colonization ship holding the infant Hibiki. However, it can be argued that this may not be true, as stated by Hibiki's "grandfather" (in reality, he is Hibiki's uncle) during a conversion near the end of the second season, that he remembers Magno always coming to play with the infant Hibiki on the colony ship. As such, she may merely be an age-old friend of his, during her days as a youth. She is voiced by Hisako Kyouda in the Japanese dub and Katherine "Teng" Perez Masilungan in the Filipino dub. Whenever talking to Hibiki, she calls him"little one" instead of his name. Throughout the series, Magno becomes a sort of mother figure to Bart, as evidenced by their conversations and what took place on the diseased planet.

She does not wish to leave Gene Grail in fear of the harsh world out there. She learned many things about Animal Country, and humanity, from notes left by a human named Kuou, which were kept in a old library in Gene Grail.
Vivian is the captain of Saint Patrick Academy's equestrian club. She is known as the queen of horseback riding because of her outstanding performance in horsemanship and is admired by her peers. Strict and exacting, she is a gifted equestrienne and is aiming to get the Lady Crest. She is the former rider of Andrews and current rider of Elizabeth. Threatened by Lynn's popularity when she managed to tame Andrews, Vivian makes sure to be harsher to Lynn. Her feeling of dislike for Lynn is further fueled when she notices that Edward is more interested in Lynn than in her. She allied herself with Mary, who also resent Lynn for ruining her mother's marriage arrangement and to become one of the nobility classes After the accident, Vivian's attitude towards Lynn gradually changes and began to accept her and even support her in her struggles. A member of the Gillette Corps, and an Assassin who utilizes needles as weapons. She serves as the Corps' infiltrator, alongside Zita. She greatly adores Albéric but never finds the time to properly confess her feelings to him. Upon hearing that Albéric was caught in the magic blast caused by the Floating Fortress Soara, Viivi undergoes a sudden transformation; her hair turns white, and her eyes purple. Later, she is told that she was transforming into "Chaika," but that her transformation was only half complete thanks to her friends' interference; however, she is also told that "half is enough," provided she fulfills her role as a Chaika and gathers the Emperor's remains.
