The two were quite close to the point where Rihan, who was still a child at the time, declared that he would make Setsura his bride.

She is reserved, shy, and a bit of a klutz. She doesn't know how to cook but that doesn't stop her from trying her best. She has the power to produce wind, she tries to help in any way she can. She also has a very evident love for Makoto. She and Makoto made a promise that they will meet one day, she remembers this because she holds the harmonica that was given by Makoto.

This lets him use his full strength in combat, but shortens his lifespan. When he is forced to fight, his personality changes to a more aggressive one. Between the anime and the manga, there are differences in the way Shinkur� is depicted. In the anime, Shinkur� is not as confident and appears to have less control over the Hozuki horn.
