Kuu is quite the normal high school girl who feels as if she's drifting through her existence. She never misses a chance to give letters to the mysterious prince in her dreams and frequently talks to him in her thoughts. In reality, she's an introverted girl, believing that she lacks good qualities. She appears to be easily overwhelmed by situations that deviate from her previous experiences and expectations. Kuu has lost both of her parents, but she does not think of herself as being unhappy because of it. Her original name is "Cielo," meaning sky, who is the original Absolute Angel researched by Kazuya and his grandfather. During the incident ten years ago, Cielo is split into four pieces, Murakumo, Batraz, Claiomh Solais and Megingjord. In addition, Megingjord is sepparated into two pieces. Kuu is the original body, while Waruteishia is the soul; this explains Kuu's initial feelings that she is lacking something inside. She starts to fall for Kyoshiro in episode 2. She dies in episode 12 but promises to see Kyoushiro again.
Kuu, is a superstar Hollywood actor originally from Kyoto. He was also the actor who played 'Katsuki' in the previous version of the drama "Dark Moon" under his former stage name 'Shuhei Hozu'. He is also Ren's father, although that is currently a secret known only to the president, Ren & his parents.

Kaneda is one of the original members of the Litchi Hikari Club, alongside Tamiya and Dafu. He has an anxious personality and has a habit of constantly chewing on his thumb. Due to being framed for breaking the black king chess piece, Zera suspects him of attempting to rebel against the club. He is killed when Litchi snaps his spine in half.
The protagonist of the story, Riku is a high-school student whose lives with his father and stepmother, Shizuru. He was in love with Shizuru's younger sister, Amane, but she is presumed dead two years ago in a fire. After sustaining, at the start of the series, a fatal wound from a Kanshu, Neene turns Riku into a special Kanshu that can retain his own consciousness as long as he has a Jinki.
