Created by Dr. Thomas Light, X is the upgraded version of his strongest creation, the original RockMan. He was developed in a way that allows him to think, feel and make his own decisions. He was sealed away by Dr. Light in an attempt to make him distinguish right from wrong; he believed that mankind was not ready to accept such an advanced robot. Centuries later he was discovered by Dr. Cain, who used his outstanding design to build an entire race of robots capable of thinking for themselves: the Reploids. This kind of "evil" Reploids were labeled Irregulars (or Mavericks), and soon a group of Irregular Hunters was gathered to mantain peace. X joined the Irregular Hunters by himself, since he felt responsible for letting Dr. Cain create the defective Reploids.

Ray Lundgren's wife, who was murdered by The Claw before the events of the story, and the creator of the armor Volkain. It is not directly stated in the story, but it is possible that Shino may have knowingly or unknowingly been working for The Claw as he stated to Ray that the armor Shino made,Volkain, was created to support one of his many projects.<br><br><span class="spoiler"> She is only seen and heard once in the series (except for her face). When Ray dies after damaging The Claw&amp;#039;s armor, he finds himself in a rocking chair on a house porch and sees Shino hanging some laundry ( which convinently hides her face). She asks him what he was dreaming about. He tells her what it was about, but says that it&amp;#039;s all over now. And as Ray walks to behind the laundry sheet to see Shino, the two share a kiss.</span>

Beyond Netero is the leader of the Dark Continent expedition team and a Hunter who claims to be Isaac Netero's son. He is currently trying to reach the Dark Continent. Beyond decides to ignore the prohibitions of the V5 about exploring the Dark continent and makes a speech with 10 important followers (with Pariston among them) saying that he is willing to see a land that nobody has ever seen. Meanwhile, the Zodiacs are given the special assignment to hunt him down, by the V5.

Leroute is a criminal who manipulates her victims. She is smart, sharp and insightful. Leroute was formerly a deranged psychologist who reveled in the misery of her clients. She often attacked her victims psychologically to such a degree, that they often committed suicide.
