Mizuki Ashiya, who is Japanese, but moved to America when she was young, is the heroine of the story. She spontaneously moved from California to Japan and enrolled into an all boys school (Osaka Gakuen) because her idol, Sano Izumi, who’s a top high jumper and the same age as her, attends the school. To look like a boy, she keeps her hair short and ruffled and wears a tight demin vest to hide her boobs. In many ways, it’s good that she has a pretty flat chest, but she wants more cleavage. She’s a very fast runner (due to her mother’s athleticism), but is very clumsy at times (due to her father’s clumsiness). Mizuki loves all kinds of food, especially sweet things, which is a strong contrast to Izumi's dislike of them. Also, she can be quite stingy when it comes to sharing her food. She’s also a lover of animals, as we can see when she’s with Yujirou, Sano’s dog.

He is Inaba's best friend from middle school. He is aspiring to become an elite businessman and surpass his father and sister. He is initially unaware of Inaba living with youkai and ghosts. However, during a fight with a gang, Inaba ends up summoning monsters from the Petit Hierozoicon, revealing to Hase about the occult life. Hase then goes and frequently visits the youkai apartments. Hase is very close to Kuri and Shiro and sleeps with Kuri everytime he spends the night with Inaba.

The female lead of the series, Mizuki has a personality which could be said to be the opposite of Akira: tough on the outside, yet gentle and sensitive beneath her tomboy facade. She's a first-year student, and the "prince" of her cohort. Despite her confidence in front of other girls, she finds herself pretty helpless when confronted by Akira's advances. Also, she's afraid of pain, so much so that her ears are not pierced. Although she likes Akira, she still has difficulty letting go of her image in front of him; this sometimes leads to quarrels between them. Initially, she harboured an intense dislike for boys, due to the experience she had with a childhood playmate, who made her feel uncomfortable whenever they played together. Ironically, that playmate turned out to be Akira. She has a younger sister. Also, she's a fan of Sakuya Ookochi, a member of the band Lucifer from Kaikan Phrase, another work by Shinjo Mayu.
