The protagonist of the series. She is a freshman who switched during the school year into Han Shin (í•œ ì‹ ) High School. An avid soccer player in junior high, she always brought her team to the finals with her skill but was crushed four years running by the league MVP, Shin-Bee. Her position is midfielder and her number is 10. Richter H. Berthein, also known as Herbst (German autumn), was a soldier for Einstürzen's army. When Badou and his brother were investigating the underground seven years ago, he led the group sent to kill them. He was the one who attacked Badou, causing him to lose an eye. Since then, Berthein has left the underground and studied to become the conductor of an orchestra. Because he has a sense of fulfillment he did not have before, he does not want to return to the underground. Although he states he is much kinder and gentler than he used to be, he has no qualms about hypnotizing the orchestra members into attacking Badou.
Willard H. Wright, is a former first-class archbishop and Chief Inquisitor of SSVD, the 8th District Repentance Enforcement Agency of the Great Court of Heaven. He is named after Willard Wright and enforces Van Dine's Commandments. A young ace inquisitor once feared by witches for his cold and ruthless tactics, he gained the nicknames "Wright of the Twenty Wedges" and "Wizard-Hunting Wright." Over time, however, he grew malcontent with SSVD's brutal standards and resigned from his position. Will is the detective of the seventh game, taking on the role held by Battler Ushiromiya and Erika Furudo in the previous games, in a world where Battler does not make it to the conference. Previously, he was briefly alluded to in TIPS for episode 5 as the leader of the SSVD and rumored to be more powerful than the Eiserne Jungfrau's current leader, Dlanor A. Knox. Unlike other characters, who attack arguments using a red blade or a blue blade, or a golden longsword in the case of Battler Ushiromiya, Will utilizes a black sword against his opponents. Although he appears gruff and quick to anger, he is genuinely good-hearted and opts to be as lenient as possible during his investigations. In Requiem of the Golden Witch, he is forced by Bernkastel to investigate the death of Beatrice and becomes close with Lion Ushiromiya, which eventually leads him to turn against Bernkastel. The emotional scars left by the Neuroi's destruction of her homeland cause her numerous problems. She often refuses to work as a team, and develops something of a dislike for the upstart newcomer Yoshika due to her attachment to Mio. When wearing her Striker Unit, she gains the dark ears and tail of a Chartreux. Perrine holds the rank of Flying Officer and her original unit was the Armée de l'Air 802nd Flying Corps. Carries a rapier into battle along with a Bren light machine-gun. Her Striker Unit is based on the Arsenal VG 39 and she is named after Pierre Clostermann.
