Despite what some people would tell, Akane is a very complex person. She had different attitudes towards different people--to most, she would be a sweet, good-natured person with just a hint of a quick temper. To Ranma, though, she comes off as a man-hating, violent tomboy. First impressions are a big deal with her. Akane has a problem with acting feminine. This is because she's had very few female role models in her life, besides Kasumi, whom for a great many years Akane modeled herself after. She is very kind, she takes care of Ichijou when he is wounded or ill. Generally, she opts to think carefully before acting, as seen when she stalls her confession to Ichijou in consideration that he may have feelings for Kirisaki. She often worries/wonders whether Raku and Chitoge's "fake relationship" is actually developing into something more than just that. Chitoge and Onodera have a really trusting relationship. It can even be considered that they are best friends since Chitoge only tells her problems to her (except in some cases, Raku as well). Despite her knowing that Chitoge and Raku are only pretending to date, she at times can't help but be suspicious of their relationship. It is revealed at the end of the manga that she is in fact the girl that Raku promised to marry as a child. She is often the subject of Miu's teasing and can resort to crying and hiding behind Nobue. She is one grade below Chika and Miu, in the same class as Ana, with whom she quickly became friends. Matsuri discovers that Ana can speak Japanese fluently and helps her hide both her Japanese language skills from the rest of their class and her lack of English language skills. While she has gray hair in the anime, her hair is white in the manga.
"Spiral Shell" Maki is an assassin working for the Seto Group, as well a devoted friend of Sun. She, like G�zabur� Seto, dislikes the idea of "losing" Sun to Nagasumi, and will often distract Sun with sweet talk in order to fire her shell gun at Nagasumi.
