* First appearance: Battle 199 * Age: Mid-30s * Type: Sei (Smiling Mask), Dou (Angry Mask) * Type: Satsujin Ken * Yami Symbol: Steel * Martial Arts: Lucha Libre Member of Yami, and a master level Lucha Libre wrestler. He is known as the Smiling Steel Fist in the One Shadow Nine Fists due to his flamboyant and goofy personality. His Yomi disciple is Rachel Stanley. In the D of D tournament arc, he is the sole representative of the Nine Fists on the island and acts as the tournament's referee. It is because of him believing in a man's romance of trespassing that allows the Shinpaku Alliance to participate in the D of D tournament. His symbol is steel. He believes that a fight must always have an audience and that the fight is for the audience's enjoyment, he also believes that after a fight the loser must obey the winner's choice of killing them or not. He has been shown to always be smiling or laughing even when angered. His personality seems to have rubbed off on his disciple since her views on fights are the same as Diego's. Diego and his disciple, Rachel Stanley have, unknown to the other members of Yami, made preparations for Rachel to fight Kenichi. Said plan involves inviting Kenichi and the master of his choice to a tag team battle against Rachel and Diego. Refusing the challenge or bringing an additional master would result in a bomb being set off. He is surprised to find Renka arriving with Ma Kensei but seems willing to go on with the battle. However, it is later revealed that the true show is the soon to be explosion of the ship, described as his "Murder Show". Upon a fiery backlash by the enraged Kensei, Diego loses his composure and takes off his "Smiling Mask", only revealing there to be another mask underneath. This shocks Rachel and causes panic among several of the audience; and Ma Kensei refers to this as Diego's true face; "Angry Steel Fist". Upon this state, Diego battles with Kensei with powerful, ferocious attacks, even bringing the battle out of the ring and apparently not caring for the safety of his precious audience in the brawl. It is revealed that he no longer regards these people as 'audience', them being targets on Yami's list of elimination. The realm audience gathered in ships further off, watching the battle via real-time screening. Diegos tried to keep Kensei in the air since there is nothing a Lucha Libre can't defeat in the air. However he is defeated when Kensei got back on the floor and said that the earth belongs to Chinese Kenpo. After his plan was thoroughly foiled, with the intervention of Miu, Kenichi and Furinji Hayato, at the point of defeat of the climax of the battle, he took care to make sure the camera angles were all fixated on him till the end, and declared that it was 'Diego Quality' for him to even lose spectacularly. He offers his mask to Kensei asking to be killed only to be denied, only for Kushinada to arrive and throw him overboard. He was saved by elder and is going to Big lock. Diego fought Kensei in a ring with a cement floor. His body is said to be steel hard so most attacks don't hurt him. He also has amazing speed such as when he got around Kensei and trapped him in a headlock.
* First appearance: Battle 180 * Age: Early-30s * Type: Dou * Type: Satsujin Ken * Yami Symbol: Ice * Martial Arts: Command Sambo Alexander Gaidar is the Command Sambo Master of Yami's One Shadow Nine Fists and the Master of Boris Ivanov. He grew up in Russia and at some time entered the army and managed to become a colonel. Later, he entered Yami and became one of the Nine Fists. He has long wavy light colored hair down to his shoulders and has strangely colored dark eyes. He typically wears an artists outfit and his military uniform. Alexander is shown to be capable of switching from a nonchalant demeanor to a raging man in a second, not unlike Ogata but with a lot less control. He took up sculpting and painting in order to create an atmosphere of peace to distance himself from the constant fighting. He particularly hates guns, which he refers to as "dirty metal", and if not in battle with somebody else, will kill a person who points a gun at him immediately regardless of the person's affiliation. He seems to have a lot of pride in Sambo and tried to prove that modern Sambo was far superior to the ancient traditional Jujutsu that Akisame uses. He seems to care for Boris's well being, as seen when they have a lot of conversations and disowned Boris as his disciple in order to prevent the latter from being possibly killed by Yomi. Strangely enough, he was very certain on instructing Boris that he should always stay cool on the battlefield, because "people who lose their cool on the battlefield, die" as he says, despite being a man that loses his temper extremely easy and proceeds to destroy everything around in very frequent fits of rage. This could be due to his knowledge of the difference of their fighting styles, with Boris being a Sei-type fighter and he being a Dou-type fighter.
First appearance: Battle 167 Age: 29-30 Type: Sei Type: Satsujin Ken Yami Symbol: Sky Martial Art: Karate (specializes in Shinchi Nengen style) Hongou Akira is a member of Yami's One Shadow Nine Fists, he is a master that utilizes Karate, he was the master of Kanou Shou (who died after being defeated by Kenichi during the D of D tournament). He scorns on using science and technology as tools to measure one's level of martial arts, but does not hesitate to raise the obstacles and difficulty level for Shou when he was in an experiment. Evidence showed that though he was extremely hard on Shou, it was because he wanted to dispel the doubts of several other people including the One Shadow that Shou had the right to be the 'Sole Successor'. Thus, he was a stern and cold teacher to Shou so that the disciple would never lose a match, which might discredit his and Shou's reputation. However he let Shou do as he pleased sometimes, including keeping a little bird and riding on him for a while on boat. Hongou is a rather serious man when it comes to many things, even as simple as meeting the other Fists. Even when taking simple kind gestures from others such as Lona thanking him, he did not talk and just stared sternly. He's also a very quiet person, as he rarely speaks unless he wishes to, especially in battle. He scorns the use of science and technology to measure one's level of Martial Arts, though he has shown he doesn't mind using it to train Shou. Despite his cold nature, he has a rather close bond to his disciple and cares for him deeply, as their relationship is like that of a father-son like relationship. He has faith in Shou that he is the 'Sole Successor' and wishes to disapprove everyone's opinion of Shou that he is not worthy of the title. He has also shown visible rage when he heard Shou died during the D of D Tournament and even mourned the loss over his beloved disciple. He harbors a great hatred for Ryozanpaku, as it is revealed that he received his scar from Sakaki Shio and is clearly upset when he learns Shou died saving Fuurinji Miu. In the battle for the Karate successor of Yami, he tells Kenichi to tell Sakaki that they will "end this soon." When he was still friends with Sakaki, Hongou was seemingly more soft-hearted and spoke more than he does now. He also seemed to have been down the path of the Katsujin Ken since he helped saved several people from getting killed on more than one occasion such as how he leaped in front of some bullets just so the hostages wouldn't get hurt. Hongou's reason for embracing the Satsujin Ken is out of honor for Suzuki Hajime, who demanded a death match with him when Yami pitted Sakaki, Hajime, and him in a death match for the succession of Karate in Yami. His conflict with Sakaki stems from this reason: whereas Sakaki wanted to let Hajime live and do what was best for him, Hongou was more concerned with fulfilling Hajime's wishes, calling Sakaki "selfish" for refusing to understand that. While he shows to be ruthless and very serious most the time, he, compared to the other members of Yami, has proven to be very honorable. He stopped his fight with Sakaki and assisted him in trying to save Miu from Jenazad when Jenazad interfered and even promised the Elder that he would return her to her home. Even Sakaki vouches that he is a man who keeps his word. He also has a high respect for the Kuremisago clan, stating that he couldn't bring himself to shed blood on their sacred land. He also wishes for no disciples to lose their lives in battle, such as stating to Sakaki that he wishes for Kenichi and Miu not to die in their fights with Jenazad's men, showing a more compassionate side.
First appearance: Chapter 176 Age: 19 Type: Dou Type: Satsujin Ken Yomi Symbol: Void Martial Arts: Kalarippayattu Ethan Stanley is Pollux of Yomi, younger twin brother of Rachel, and the disciple of Sehrul Rahman. He is an incredibly tall and immensely muscular young man for his age with short light blond colored hair. He wears a tight t-shirt with dark pants and, in an effort to fit in at Kenichi's school, he was seen wearing a school uniform. When fighting, he is usually bare chested and wears a Kalaripayattu loincloth to increase his mobility. Ethan mostly keeps a stoic expression and follows his older sister around. He demonstrates a great amount of resilience, able to get along with his sister despite being constantly ordered around and attacked by her, and expresses great concern for her well being, going as far as to punch a client who said that he wanted to "buy her" from Yami. Even though his sister rarely shows any form of care for her brother and her frequent mistreatment towards Ethan, he has shown that he loves his sister very much and is willing to do anything for her and even was saddened how he lost his fight with Kenichi, thinking she would end up dying because of his loss. Like his master, he is a very considerate person who shows little, if any, offense towards anyone, including his enemies. He doesn't seem to be irritated by others doing things that annoy him, such as when some girls were playing with him and tying up his short hair for fun, he didn't seem to be bothered by it, suggesting he doesn't let minor things bother him. Ethan is described by Kenichi as the most honest person in Yomi, out of the rest of the Yomi transfer students, he didn't do anything bad in school, defended his classmates on the camping trip, and tries to think of peaceful solutions to solve problems, such as having Kenichi die as a martial artist once again as the best solution for both of them. Further reflecting his contrast with his sister and his honesty, Ethan uses rather conservationist attacks while his sister uses all manners of flashy moves. When he fights, he seems to switch from a quiet giant to a raging berserker. He mostly goes all out when fighting, though he will use different stances and hit pressure points to weaken the enemy if the enemy proves resilient. Though he is on the side of the Satsujin Ken, he appears to be more suited for the Katsujin Ken. He does not attack Kenichi despite given obvious chances, takes on missions of body guarding, and is taking on even more missions to save his sister. It is revealed that his master took him on trips to India, where he made a lot of friends. He claims that his friendship with them was all an act, and only said goodbyes to them as a part of the act.
Aerith Gainsborough is a character from the Final Fantasy VII series who is portrayed as kind and gentle, eager to help her friends to the best of her ability. She is typically seen wearing a pink ribbon in her hair, a pink dress with short brown coat, and brown boots. In the game Crisis Core, she wears a white sleeveless dress. She is also one of Cloud's potential love interests. She was previously dating and in love with Zack Fair. She is first introduced as a flower girl, and she briefly converses with Cloud Strife, a mercenary who is fleeing from the bombing of a Mako reactor by himself and AVALANCHE. The two later meet at the church in the Sector 5 slums, when he falls down from the plate and through the roof of the church. Later, when faced with the possibility of being captured by the Turks, the two join forces to escape. As he reminds her of Zack Fair, she asks him to be her bodyguard in return for one date. She is eventually captured by Shinra and taken to the science lab, however Cloud and friends infiltrate the building and save her. She then joins them in the pursuit of Sephiroth, while embarking on a journey of self-discovery as well. After a failed attempt to foil Sephiroths theft of the Black Materia, she ventures alone into the Forgotten City for as yet unknown reasons. Cloud and his companions follow after her, eventually finding her praying at an altar. As she looks up to smile at Cloud, however, Sephiroth appears and kills her by impaling her through the torso. The materia given to her by her mother, which she wore in her hair, falls from the altar into the water and was lost. After fighting an incarnation of Jenova, Cloud carries her body out into a lake in the Forgotten City, and releases her back to the Planet. The party later learns the reason for her being in the Forgotten City; through her mothers materia, now known as the 'White Materia', she was able to summon Holy, the ultimate White Magic, and the only force capable of repelling the ultimate Black Magic, Meteor. Even though she successfully managed to cast Holy before her death, it was held back by the sheer force of Sephiroths will. When he was finally defeated and Holy was released, it appears that it was too late to function as effectively as it should, for Meteor - already summoned by Sephiroth and set on a collision course with the Planet - had come too near the Planet's surface. While Holy clashes with Meteor, attempting to prevent its impact, the gravity of both Meteor and Holy pulling on the spell in opposite directions weakens it, leaving it with too little room to take effect. The Lifestream then flows forth from within the planet, intervening with Holy and Meteor, and acting as a battering ram while aiding in the destruction of Meteor. This scene is followed by a vision of Aerith within the Lifestreams energy. She later makes several appearances in the CGI film, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. As Cloud's spiritual guide, she urges him to move on in life, to forgive himself for the tragedies that were beyond his control and to tell him that she never blamed him for her death. During several flashes, she speaks to Cloud in an open meadow laden with flowers, cheerfully and kindheartedly poking fun at how he needlessly burdens himself with the past, but also acknowledging his suffering and offering kind words of support. Towards the end of the movie, somehow she causes it to rain, the water curing the victims of the Geostigma when they come into contact with it. The nurse who take care of Haruka when she in the hospital. She's a good person and realize the gap between Haruka and Takayuki. She once supported Takayuki when they coincidentally met at the street.
Although being friends with Takayuki, Haruka and Mitsuki in high school, he drifts off from the group after graduation. However, he becomes an important character towards the end of the series.
