During the Nine-Tails' Attack on Konoha, Shinku was seen placing the young shinobi inside a barrier, informing them that they were to stay out of the fight against the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, to which his daughter Kurenai voiced her discontentment. Shinku told his daughter that she was a shinobi who may or may not live a long life, and requested of her to live long enough to give him a grandchild whom the Will of Fire could be passed to. She can do drawings and write words and also has the ability to make each of those those words into tangible symbols. Angela does not seem to be able to speak much of any Japanese, with her vocabulary limited to terms like s�-uke ("total bottom," obviously learned through her interest in yaoi d�jinshi). However in the anime when characters are speaking Japanese around her she has commented on what they are saying in English, implying that she has a basic understanding of Japanese even if she does not speak it.
