Height: 171 cm Weight: 51 kg Status: Ferryman Bekk� is the manager of the Z-Loan office and a Ferryman (Watashimori); he is the one who gives people their loans. Although he appears to be greedy, Bekk� is not stingy when it comes to giving proper burials for the zombies they have come in contact with or giving money to the zombies' families. He is shown to be quite good at ping pong defeating Shito in episode 7 without letting Shito even taking a point off him. Since he is at least old enough to have met Shito in Shanghai at the end of the nineteenth century, he is probably not human, though as Michiru has not noticed a black ring on his neck he cannot be a zombie either.

Since he is also a zombie-loaner, he only comes back from his trips when his loan extends. Sotetsu is referred to as the "Dub King", the school's "living legend". Despite her obvious young age, she is quite intelligent and usually speaks in an adult manner. Following the staff's trip to the hot springs, she has a pet werewolf whom she educates in the city under the name of Raika. She sends him to Z-Loan to obtain experience in order to become stronger. She is known to have mysterious powers which she uses to tame Raika, and also abilities that enable her to open 'doors' to different supernatural worlds. She also knows a lot about Bekk� and the WFO.

She is a very cheerful girl, but she also has a double personality. Unlike Koyomi's innocent and sweet exterior, her other personality, "Yomi", is without reserves and is usually fondling Michiru, despite the latter's unwillingness to do so. It appears that Michiru is the only person able to awaken this alter ego of Koyomi's, merely by kissing her or simply calling her by name. While Yomi seems to dislike everyone other than Michiru (for whom Yomi harbours sexual desire and deeper emotional feelings), Koyomi seems to have a slight crush on Sotetsu As�. Yomi also has a special ability called the "Dead Man's Tongue", which allows her to channel dead people's words. It is known from the manga that Yomi is not a girl but the combination of many boys' souls from the Yoimachi family. There is also a point in which Koyomi dies in order to bring Shito back for he is the one Koyomi actually loves.

The protagonist, a powder hunter. Gamma has metal plating on his right hand and arm, which allows him to catch bullets. The plating extends to his cheek and neck. He fights with a chainsword and has mastered Karin Zanjutsu (literally, Fire Ring Sword Technique), an art learned from the East. In its 2,000 year history only 15 have mastered it. Instead of taking the average 32 years to master it, Gamma managed it in 4 years. Those who master it are surrounded by a black flame of death. These flames allow him to perform special attacks with his sword like creating fire chains, and wings from his body. Gamma is also the last heir of the Karin Zanjutsu. He seeks the Zombie Powder for immortality, for reasons unknown. As a powder hunter, Gamma has a price of 960,000,000 Niit on his own head. He also seems to have some relation to a woman in black (who only appears in the last few chapters of the manga); her name is revealed by Tasha as Tatena, whose grave lies in the back of the home of Nazna Gemini.
