Seaquant is a Blacklist Hunter and a servant of the Zoldyck Family. Three years before the beginning of the story, he and 100 henchmen came to attack the Zoldyck estate in Kukuroo Mountain, but they were annihilated by Canary, a mere 10 year-old female trainee butler at that time. Greatly shocked, he begged to become a servant of the Zoldycks. He is now good friends with Zebro, the old groundskeeper of the Zoldyck Family. Seaquant first appears when Gon, Leorio and Kurapika are trying to find a way to meet Killua in the Zoldyck Family's estate. He and Zebro allow the trio to stay in their house and train with their heavy equipments until they are strong enough to open the Testing Gate. After the death of Chairman Netero, he appears at the Hunters Association's headquarters to participate in the election for the 13th Hunter Chairman.

Canaan is the main character of the series, a mercenary currently operating in Shanghai. She was the only survivor of a village destroyed by war in the middle East before being found and trained by Siam, who has her adopting the name Canaan. She developed a mutual respect for her mentor during the course of her training, but after he was killed by Alphard, her mind is consumed by the thought of revenge and often gets serious whenever she sees Alphard. As an elite mercenary, Canaan is also a skilled marksman and an expert of combat. She possesses the ability known as synesthesia which allows her to concentrate and combine her senses. She uses this ability as a radar to locate others, to hack into mechanical systems, and to dodge/deflect bullets easily. If she overuses it, however, her strength will be exhausted and she will collapse. Canaan has blond hair and hazel eyes, but whenever she uses synesthesia, her eyes turn red. As she was living in isolation for most of her life, she treasures the friendship with Maria ÅŒsawa, the first friend she has in years, to the point of prioritizing Maria's safety above all else and ruthlessly killing anyone she deems as a threat to Maria. Despite this cold-blooded nature, she enjoys going out with Maria as well as living a normal life.
Usually seen smiling, Maria is one of the central characters of the series. Two years ago during the events of 428: FÅ«sasareta Shibuya de, she was abducted by terrorists and was infected with the Ua virus, surviving the ordeal only thanks to the anti-virus her father developed. She befriended Canaan after being saved from hoodlums during a trip somewhere in the Middle East. As her dream is to become a photographer, she became the partner of Minoru Minorikawa before the pair's assignment in Shanghai and her subsequent reuniting with Canaan. Despite being aware of Canaan's dangerous life, Maria tries her best to stay close to her friend. Many characters have made fun of her ahoge hairstyle and her relatively small bust size.

She works as a cosplay waitress in Santana's bar as well as his assistant, the two appearing to have developed feelings for each other. Usually seen behaving childlike.
