The sixteen-year-old main character of the manga. She is one of the top talents in the company "Shanghai Talent Limited". Because of that, she was initially jealous of Ran's potential, but eventually she fell in love with Ran. She can be very stubborn, exuberant, delusional and difficult, much to the annoyance of her manager, Saeki. She has a strong work ethic, going so far as to ensure that her career is never compromised due to her personal life. This is something which Ran admires. Julia envisions herself to be a lecherous wolf who needs to stay away from Ran lest she confess or act on her feelings. She is later shocked to realise, much to nobody else's surprise, that she is extremely incompetent when it comes to doing anything to or with Ran. She laments that she is the more submissive between the two of them. She is the president and sole member of the "We love love love Ran-Ran Fan Club". Julia suffers intense nosebleeds whenever Ran does something cute, when she thinks something perverted, and when Ran touches her. It gets to the point that she briefly considers medical help to stop her nose from bleeding so profusely. At the end of the series, Julia is no longer sixteen years old, but is turning eighteen. She cuts her hair short and continues working hard as an idol. She and Ran eventually form a steady relationship, but it seems despite growing up, Julia remains ever the idiot.
An egotistical actor who works alongside Julia for the filming of a school drama. He is very full of himself though he acts very nice to Julia. He has a crush on her and tries to woo her. He however gets hit in the face when Julia pushes him out of the way to run and greet Ran. Confused by being spurned, he tries to brush it off only to accidentally bump into Ryou. To add literal insult to injury, Ryou proceeds to belittle him and he skulks off, never to be seen again. As an ongoing gag, every time a character tries to remember him, his image becomes more distorted as nobody remembers him clearly. Ran seems to have been jealous of him after she assumed he and Julia were dating. The only title he goes by is "sensei" which was the character he plays in the TV show he and Julia were filming. Julia does not remember what his real name is either, and he himself says he has no name.
Julia's manager. She knows about Julia's romantic feelings toward Ran, and is often less than pleased with the awkward situations that those feelings often cause. She is normally calm, but Julia's outgoing attitude frustrates her to no end. Kaoru is in love with her, but Saeki sees those feelings as a nuisance. She is twenty-seven years old.
A photographer who works alongside Ran and used to work with Souma Rena. Sera turns out the be Ran's "stalker" but it turns out all she wanted to do was talk to Ran; Julia drop kicks her assuming that she wanted to attack Ran when all Sera was doing was reaching for her business card. She eventually becomes closer to the idols and starts to photograph Ran. Eventually, she and Ran become confidantes. Sera realises that Ran is very much in love with Julia despite the younger girl having no clue. Ironically, she has no idea that her strained relationship with Rena is a result of unspoken their love for one another. Sera eventually ends up dating Rena after they reconcile.
Sudou is Saeki's kouhai at work. She sometimes aids Julia if Saeki is unable to be at the young talent's side, such as the instance where Saeki gets sick and is unable to work. Despite her denial of it, she has an intense crush on Saeki and is often in contention for her affections with Kaoru, of whom she is extremely jealous.
