The young princess from the country of Havoniwa, currently attending school along with Lashara. She and Lashara are cousins, but they are not fond of each other and attempt to engage in constant one-upmanship. She is very close to her servant Yukine, and is rarely seen without the latter. Maria is the daughter of Flora, and along with Lashara is frequently embarrassed by her mother's antics. She figures out early on that Kenshi is the pilot of the white sekijin, and often plots to make Kenshi marry Yukine, so Maria can claim ownership of him. Maria is very bad at manual labor, and often sits under an umbrella with Lashara while others work around them, and complains about how tire she is, even though she does no work at all. Her cooking skills are equally bad, as evidenced during her participation during the pot-dish battle, since she always has servants who cook for her. After the fall of Havoniwa's palace, Queen Flora puts Maria in charge of government matters in order to give her experience for her eventual rise to the throne. Just before the battle to retake the Holy Land, Queen Flora and King Shurifon conspire to have Kenshi marry Aura and Maria, which flusters Maria into speechlessness.
A man who lives in/is part of the fictional world. He refers to Akatsuki first as comrade, then as partner. Vid is extremely knowledgeable about the fictional world, but he refuses to divulge much information to Akatatsuki. Vid's weapon of choice seems to be his fan. He desires the location, and perhaps the identify of, the fictional world's "God".
A smuggler and acquaintance of Altea, he initially showed up to help Peepi and Koinzell as they were questioned, and escaped with them to the Empire after the destruction of the border fortress Heaven's Lance. After saving princess Sharen of the Kusharundo clan, from one of the Seven Heroes, Schtemwolech, he decided not to follow Koinzell; however, he promised to help Koinzell one day when the need arises. Ezra Vieil Ezra is a part of the bridge crew of the Nirvana, and she is an operator, although most of her work appears to surround communications. Ezra is kind and cheerful, and always seems to be able to cheer people up with her kindness. She also agreed to be a Fama, and is pregnant throughout much of the series, displaying symptoms that seem to be a mystery to the men on the Nirvana. Ezra's kindness is repaid to her when she has her baby, as the crew all help her through bringing her child into the world. Although it is difficult for her at times to be a mother, Ezra tries her best in order to care for the baby and make sure that her "Ohma" is proud of her. Magno Vivian is the commander of the pirates and everyone addresses her 'Boss'. She is one of the first-generation colonists from Earth that was onboard the Ikazuchi colony ship, hoping to populate other planets around the galaxy. She is over a hundred years old and is filled to the brim with knowledge and wisdom, most of which reflects the same kind of wisdom that can be applied to both genders, before their separation into Mejare and Taraak. She often hands out pieces of advices and directs the crew in their duties. Also, though not directly stated, she may be Hibiki Tokai's sister. This can be derived from the picture she has of herself when on the colonization ship holding the infant Hibiki. However, it can be argued that this may not be true, as stated by Hibiki's "grandfather" (in reality, he is Hibiki's uncle) during a conversion near the end of the second season, that he remembers Magno always coming to play with the infant Hibiki on the colony ship. As such, she may merely be an age-old friend of his, during her days as a youth. She is voiced by Hisako Kyouda in the Japanese dub and Katherine "Teng" Perez Masilungan in the Filipino dub. Whenever talking to Hibiki, she calls him"little one" instead of his name. Throughout the series, Magno becomes a sort of mother figure to Bart, as evidenced by their conversations and what took place on the diseased planet.
