Rosee is an officer in Emperor Zool's army, although she is not Gishin by blood. She first appears charged with the keeping an eye on Marg. Like Takeru and Marg, Rosee is an esper and can use her powers to hypnotize others.

A pair of twin boys named Mars and Marg were born long ago on the planet Gishin. Emperor Zool took the one named Mars as a baby and sent him on a mission to Earth. This mission was to detonate the bomb inside his robot Gaia and destroy the planet, aiding in Zool's quest to conquer the universe. Mars was adopted by Earth parents and grew up having a normal happy life, not knowing anything about his origins. His parents named him Takeru, and as a young man of 17 was a proud member of the Crasher Squad, helping the Earth in their space exploration program. One day, the Gishin came to Earth and told Takeru about his past. Loving the Earth, Takeru rejected Zool's plan and instead took up the fight against Gishin. To make things more difficult, if Takeru himself dies, the bomb inside Gaia will explode anyway. Takeru awakens to his natural esper powers and gains control of six mysterious robots, being able to control them before even understanding where they come from. When these robots combine, they form God Mars, the strongest robot in the universe. From there, Takeru takes on a quest with his friends from the Crasher Squad to understand more about himself, his family, the six god robots, Zool, Gishin, and to save the Earth.

Marg is the twin brother to Takeru, who grows up on Gishin instead of Earth. Not content to follow the orders of Zool, Marg uses his telepathy to aid Takeru from afar and teach him more about the history of Gishin.

Emperor Zool is the dictator in control of Gishin and many other planets he has conquered. When Takeru was a baby, Zool took him from his biological parents and sent him to Earth, with the mission of destroying the planet when he's older. A cruel ruler, Zool has enslaved many people and inspired many rebellions. His ultimate wish is to control the entire known universe. Nobody can confirm if he is even human, because he is never seen without his mask and cloak... He is later revealed to be the god of death, ruling over the dead from a hellish celestial body called the Burning Star.

A spirit from the Heian era of Japan and mentor of Hikaru Shindo. Sai continually plays Go in attempt to one day play the divine move (also known as the Hand of God). In the manga and anime, Sai had possessed the real-life figure Hon'inbo Shusaku and through his body, became a renowned Go player. Sai holds a rivalry towards Koyo Toya (a.k.a. Toya Meijin) and through Hikaru persuades Toya to have a game with him. His wish is realized when Toya accepts the challenge and plays a game through the Internet. After a legendary match that ends up with Sai's triumph, Hikaru discovers another move which would have turned the game around. Witnessing the maturity of Hikaru, Sai finds out that his one-thousand-year time in the world is going to finish and can't fulfill the wish of obtaining the divine move. A few days after the game with Toya Meijin, Sai suddenly disappears, neither terminating his last match with Hikaru nor saying goodbye to him. Sai leaves Hikaru forever, leaving Hikaru depressed and wanting to quit go. Hikaru then realizes that he will continue to play go for Sai since Sai influnenced him to play go. Extremely effeminate by today's standards (as is appropriate for a high-born Heian man), Sai is often drawn with traditionally feminine features and mannerisms. Yumi Hotta has joked about fans mistakenly calling him a "she" in the "intermission" pages of the manga. Sai's extremely emotional behavior is also proper for a Heian male; he sometimes cries copiously, soaking his long sleeves with tears, which in his own time would be respected as a sign of intelligence and sensitivity. His name Fujiwara indicates that he is related to a noble family of extremely high prestige in the Heian period, the Fujiwara clan.
