Two years after the birth of the manga a pilot film was released. It was a brief film of only 13 minutes that had the purpose of assay the response to a possible future anime realization of Lupin III. The pilot opens with a challenge call from Lupin to Zenigata from a public phone. Previously unreleased remastered TV version of this pilot from a year 1971 was released in 1989. Aum Shinrikyou is a Japanese doomsday cult founded by Shoko Asahara in 1984. It carried out the deadly Tokyo subway sarin attack in 1995 and was found to have been responsible for another smaller sarin attack the previous year. The cult created its own studio called MAT (Manga, Animation, and Team) in 1991 for the sole purpose of recruiting otaku into their cult. This 10 episode OVA mostly focuses around Asahara himself being Christ. All 10 episodes were sold separately during its initial release but a compilation is available on the cult's official YouTube channel.

On April 3, 2015, it was bundled with a limited edition of the manga's 58th volume.

Bundled with the limited edition of 14th Baki-Dou manga volume. Despite being dumdled with Baki-Dou, it will adapt part of the the "Most Evil Death Row Convicts" arc from Baki: New Grappler Baki. The arc features underground ring fighters in the no-rules combat environment of death row convicts. The OAD will highlight five individuals from prisons around the world who "long to know defeat." The five individuals break out of their respective prisons and head to Japan.
